The Hero is Burton’s entrance into the world of rockered boards. Its V-rocker promises enhanced control, more snap, and truer flex. Add the beefy 10:45 sidewalls, scooped-up nose and tail, and the twin-esque shape, and you’re liable to be caught belting out the Bonnie Tyler’s 80s classic “Holding Out For A Hero.”
Tester feedback:
“This board is so fun, soft enough for rails but still in total control on jumps and at Mach speeds.”
“More fun than a day at Disneyland. This board does it all—kinda like a Swiss Army knife.”
Available sizes: 152, 155, 158
$399

i’m definitely getting this board. i know some cool shop kids that demoed it and they said it was way sicker than the lib skate banana. that magnetraction shit is garbo and the libs are way to soft, you can’t get any pop, they like bounce off stuff.. so weird.

yo i heard this board is the shit! i’m definitely coppin’ one fo’ sho! burton is always holdin’ it down! let the haters hate! (and ride shitty boards!) find me in the line at mtn. creek if you have some beef.

my good buddy rode this board and swore to me its the best rocker board around. do any of you guys know where to get one?

I have a skate banana and its a ton of fun but I would love to find a rockered board that can be more of an all mountain board. Something that can turn on a dime, press easily but still able to handle some narly chutes and some high speed bombs.
Its a fun board but not a narly all mountain slayer but the I have to honestly say that magnetraction is no joke.

This is a great board but it is kind of a sham that it won best board under $400 but the reatail price is $450. What’s the deal with that.

PortersTahoe.com has it in stock and it won best board under $400 because they’re selling at $399

for the guy that said magne-traction is garbage, take a step back for a minute. for your friends that were stoked on the board, i totally agree(not that i have ridden mine yet) but anyways. the Pressure Distribution Edges on burton boards(including the hero) is the exact same idea as a magne-traction(except the PDE on Burton boards has been around longer than Mag-T). part of what makes the hero ride so solid on harder snow is the Press. Dist. edges. So if your dawging on Mag-T then your saying pressure Distributed Edging on burton boards is also Garbage, which we all know is not the case.

about the retail price - its $430 officially. burton didnt have it all figured out at the time of the goodwood test.
and as for porters.. chappy posted pictures when the hero go in and a lot of people were like “wait, why does the tag say 430?” and he contacted his guys and they said thats the real price, direct from burton. however, because TWS is advertising it as goodwood under 400 even though its not, he decided to price it at 399 anyway.

Actually from Burton the retail on the Hero is $449.95. The female version the lipstick is $429.95. That is cool Porters is sticking to that price but it sucks that he has to eat into his profits and Burton still makes the same amount of money when it was there mistake.

My brother and I picked a pair up a few weeks ago. He already has 1 day on it and loved it. I haven’t been out yet. He said that it feels normal just carving around until you start to butter. So for pow or park you should be pretty much covered. Anyone demo one in the pipe?

Hey guys. For your information the board is in fact retailed in stores at $399.99. All these other places are jackin the prices up so they can make some money. They can do this because they know that people will buy it because it is such a sweet board.

The Hero sticker price is 430, if you get the ps version(private stock) its 399. Dont know why the limited edition is cheaper but thats the way it is. Trust me, I work at a Burton Coalition store and we had all are Burton reps there 2 weeks ago and this is what we were told. And the Hero is the most fun board I have ever ridden. butters and presses like a dream, soft as hell yet carves and pops like crazy. Will never ride another board. I have 12 days on it and I am sold on it.

i’m pretty sure the private stock are more expensive, cuz of the limited number, and the designs are all done by different artists. The ones that i’ve seen were going for $650 easily.
there’s a dope one of Mickey Mouse in a gas mask!

December 13th, 2008 at 6:49 am

I’ve rode most of the current 2009 rocker boards. The Hero is good, great even but not my favorite. They do all they say they do..it doesn’t throw you off on landings. I hate burton bindings in general so I don’t like the fact it uses the new ICS and EST set up. Which means you have to use there bindings. I’d recommend the board to people especially those who are already into burton.
I actually prefer the k2 turbo dream. K2 origionated the rocker technology and I prefer my Rock from bindings out and not V’d on the inside as burton set theres to do
but that is person preference

I had about 4 runs on the Hero 2 days ago. I’ve ridden 4 different Burton boards ranging from A Con-Dom, Blunt, Custom and then the Hero. The Hero was the most fun for the park and pressing by far. It has enough flex to press, and jsut enough stiffness to land jumps. The best part is that when you want to hit higher speeds, the board is solid, turns with just as much precision as the Custom. Needless to day, I picked one up this afternoon and can’t wait to ride her this weekend!

I finally bought this board last week after trying to find a demo which was impossible around here. Took out in a foot of fresh pow and instantly fell in love with it. The guy who said PDE is the same as Magnetraction is WRONG. You can’t even notice the extra half millimeter on the edges- it looks like a normal board. You can spot magnetraction from a mile away- there’s no resemblance or similarity in the design at all. This board wants to take off as soon as get on it and it is fast as hell and stable. I’m totally sold on rocker and Burton boards.
January 18th, 2009 at 5:57 pm
PDE is the same idea as mtx, its not as intense though. i think lib overdoes it with magnetraction, it grips wayy too hard..but to say they are completely different is completely false. its the same idea done 2 different ways.

The hero is a dope board and has more pop then a can of soda. It is extreme fun all day and every morning I wake up I look forward to riding this board

I have been riding the Hero 155 all winter about 26 days on it so far. It is the best board i have ridden. It carves great, super stable at fast speeds, Carves insane, Has tons of pop and feels really light. I bought it for a park board but ride it all over the mountain and its the only board i am going to ride. You need one.

I’m 5′8″ - 165 pounds. Would you recommend the 152 or 155?
February 21st, 2009 at 4:34 pm
I can’t find the female version (lip-stick) anywhere. It’s really starting to piss me off. Can anyone tell me where to find it.
February 26th, 2009 at 1:57 am
I’m 5′7″ - 165 lbs, and the 155 seems to work out well for me. I actually thought it might be too small, but so far its been perfect. Great board!

Good evening .
I have something to say, about aloevera, something about which you wrote above, about health and minerals… For a long time, I and my good friend use the products of the FLP Company. We every time see the good results and also we earn money for our families and we are happy. My friend works with aloe Vera in the company of Forever Living has more than 5 years (My friend works ONLY in the Forever Living Company and has a wife and three children). I know Aloe products for nutritional for a long time, but a year ago, began working as a distributor in the flp.
Of course, job is some difficult, but in no other case, You really can earn so much much money with so much fun and smiling faces around…
So if you want to discuss something about your post, and about my experience with aloe vera products for weight loss management, I’ll always be glad to talk.
Best regards from Washington state and have a nice day!
Andrew - Aloe Vera Distributor
