Hey bro where did you get all the great ideas for the Nomis Line because its absolutely on point?

  • ashbury321 Says:

Simon, I have watched every video part of you in the last couple of years and I was just wondering how you pulled off being a pro snowboarder when all you really are is a really good clothes model. I think the nomis business plan of makng oversized, loud clothing is pretty much full proof. So my question is, How do you pull it off, and also why can you only spin backside off of your toes. it looks like when a pizza guy throws up the dough. Thanks for your time.

  • B-Cor Says:

Yo Simon, I heard your a pretty solid baller.
If you could dunk on anyone in the world and straight up humiliate them, who would you dunk on and
    what would you pull?

    Respect.

  • Sam p. Says:

  • bromis Says:

hey i wasjust wondering, i rode with a guy back home that said he used to be ur rep when u rode for option chris bahlog? just wondering if thats true or not and if so, how was it living with the guy haha

  • McSteezy! Says:

is this guy for real? What an ass…who would even ask that? He already owns an apparel company (very successful might I add) w/ his brother…NOMIS!

How about this…so you're straight edge, why? Not hating or anything, to each his own, but alcohol just makes everything more fun/tolerable. Do you drink at all? Have you ever tasted the sweet gonja? I mean, you are from Canada and they have some of the BEST!

  • the zombie Says:

    ehhhh simonnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
what are your feelings about small rodents, which one is your favorite?

  • Kerr Says:

I'm thinking of growing one for Movember, can you give me any tips on making a beauty?

  • cleaning guy Says:

    yo simon,
i'm homies with ryan mcdonough. we talk about you sometimes at sanction. that's irrelevant i guess.
the next time you come to waterloo though you should hit the victoria st. bridge rail. it's super gnarly but it's gotta be done. sollars and cartwright backed down from it, it's your turn to step up.

    here's the question:
how do you figure out what kind of clothing designs to do next with nomis? isn't it pretty freakin hard to know what's going to be in style in 8 months when the clothes actually hit stores? one more thing, can you please dispel the rumours that you're switching to technine boards once and for all? kids will finally stop asking about it if they hear straight from you that you're sticking with stepchild.
    word. ontario love.

  • crailslides for days Says:

Simon, straight up your 180 nose presses epitomize the real definition of the word STEEZ!. True story, my best friend tried to be as steezy as you on a rail and he got so broke. He broke is collar bone, lost 2 teeth, and tore his ACL.On top of this, his girlfriend broke up with him. Here is my question: Do you think I should just come clean to my best friend and tell him im boning his ex?

Honestly, would you rather be a pro snowboarder that travels around and films and almost never gets to just chill with people you love ridin with and just ride, or would you rather do something else to make your $$ and be able to have an awesome time and get to ride way more (especially more park)?

  • nick Says:

So I have been designing clothes for a few years with a screen printer my friend and I bought. It has become quite a daunting task and there have been many problems that we have had to over come to keep printing shirts. Nomis has been a huge success but there had to be some hardships along the way. What problems did you face while creating Nomis and how did you deal with them? Any suggestions or tips?
    Thanks Man,
    Tommy

  • TheSpangler Says:

Ask him to join in on the action

  • UnCanadian Says:

How do you keep tricking companies into paying you to be a pro funboxer? Don't you get embarassed posing around all the am kids who are actually good at snowboarding?

  • Spenny Says:

Some people stand in darkness. Afraid to step into the light.
Some people need to help somebody when the edge of surrender is in sight.
Don't you worry, it's going to be all right.

'Cause I'm always there. I won't let you out of my sight.
I'll be there–never you fear. I'll be there–forever and always.
    I'm always here.

    did you know that ?

  • Ryan Lavering Says:

While starting snowboarding did you always dream of becoming a pro snowboarder? or was it like you tried out a few contests, win em, and then started thinking about a career in snowboarding?

  • stepsteeze Says:

pretty easy reply, he owns part of Nomis and part of StepChild.

  • baileys from a boot Says:

I have noticed that you, Joe sexton and JP Walker seem to be getting pretty tight and I was wondering if you had thought about subsidising your snowboarding income by forming, what as far as I know would be the world’s first snowboard boy band. Joe could be the crazy rock guy, JP would be the artist who is looking for a solo career and you would be the one that looks good in the posters but only ever sings backing. Unlike other boy bands who run around on the beach in their videos you could make snow angels and look longingly for the girl of your dreams from the chair lifts, you could also call yourselves something like "PJ Eoj Nomis"

Scratch that just stick to the snowboarding and keep ripping. Right I’m off to find some surfers and start the world first buoy Band.

  • caleb kitzerow Says:

have you and sexton ever shared the same bed? if so did u spoon?

  • gangster-ish Says:

hey Simon, I'd just like to say that as a teenager it's really awesome to have a pro shredder as good as you to look up to. Like It's awesome that you don't do drugs and your close with family so thanks for that.

    question:

Does skating in the off season help you get back to where you left off last season?

    thanks for your time

    P.S
I met you at COC session B playing knockout and you kept telling my brother how you liked his style at basketball. Just thought I should say that haha

  • Andrew Burns Says:

OK, first thing's first, Sick Video, Smooth and Clean. dope part! So now for the question, You joe and Jp are always riding together, so what goes through head when you see them take a hard fall on a rail, or booter, that you are about to hit?

HOW ARE YOU THE GOD OF SNOWBOARDING?? I JUST DONT GET IT! YOU JUST HAVE THE BEST STYLE ON EVERYTHING! HOW HAVE YOU GOTTEN SO GOOD!?!?!?

  • Peter D Says:

What is the exact story on how Nomis started and did you ever think it would get this big?

  • Ben Says:

Hey Simon, you ride with Sexton who obviously dresses different then you and J.P. It seems like more people are riding with more extreme styles(tighter pants, taller t's) you know what I'm talking about. I was wondering if you have any input as to why kids feel the need to hate on eachother just merely for the fact that they dress a certain way?

  • kevilious Says:

yo simon how come you never do contests? and how you end up with technine?

  • kgibs Says:

if jed anderson wore nomis would he rock xlt?

  • itsjustme Says:

Hey Simon, there seems to be tons of hate on your riding. Even on here.

"Tricking companies into paying you to be a pro funboxer. Don't you get embarassed posing around all the am kids who are actually good at snowboarding?"

What do you say to people that say things like this about you when you know how hard you worked to get where you are in snowboarding today?

I just want to add that being a smalltime Lindsay kid myself, your riding and lifestyle are a big influence on the way I choose to live my life. Much respect.

    Thanks a lot.
    Peace.

  • Mike Says:

I was thinkin you should change your last name to nomis and then pass the name down for generations so you could have the whole stanley yelnats thing going. Anyway my question is, Why isnt a steeze artist like yourself in the x games or any other big competitions; i dont watch all of them avidly but i hardly see you out there. Your one of may favorite riders ( im not just blowing smoke), i LOVE your style of riding, and i think you should enter more big comps

  • Bryce D Says:

hey simon, i was just wondering who got you into snowboarding in the first place?. and who were your fave riders back in the day when you started to shred.? who is your biggest influence now in your riding and life in general, and why do you prosseed to blow every other clothing company out of the water, with yours.?! hahaha

  • sten Says:

Why and when did you start snowboarding?

  • grant Says:

Hey simon, i have a lot of respect for you being a bigger name pro and still having God be the major focus for your life, i also really like that you have the cross on all your boards. Whats it like being a Christian in the sport, and does it affect who your with or your sponsers or anything like that?

  • Jude Dircks Says:

hey simon, bout 5 months ago i fractured a vertebrae in my lower spine, luckily it came after my season had pretty much come to an end, ive been keeping up with physical therapy and am siked for next season, plus been watchin some of your parts, i was just wonderin wat was your worst injury, and how long did it take u to get back in the game? Thanks

  • kidontheshred Says:

  • scott Says:

how often do people call you sie-mon instead of si-mone?

  • Michael Says:

How come your outerwear line Nomis is so poorly constructed? Is it made in China? Please don't pick me, because I don't want your outerwear, even if it's free. Thanks a million.

  • Floppy Says:

Can you please explain the swiggly line on the back pockets of your outerwear pants? How did that come to be? Is it every thing you expected it to be? What does the future hold for it?

  • Nick Theo Says:

Hey Simon, have you ever shredded Boler Mt. is London, Ontario?

  • Theoret Says:

Do you find it hard being a christian in the snowboarding community? what advice would you have on being a light in a dark place Simon (not saying snowboarding is a dark place, but the scene sometimes can be for sure)? you ball man, keep it up man

  • sam Says:

First off your one of favorite riders your parts in down with people and child support are two of my favorite vidio parts ever. Im sure you have come across a rail or jump or even a trick when snowboarding that your a little scared of . How do you overcome that and get your self to go for it anyway?

  • CJohnson Says:

You have traveled a tons and experienced alot more than the average park ridden city kid, hows it feel to be a name in the pro snowboard scene, does it take ur attention away from other shit you might have wanted to pursue? and do you ever get sick of hurting urself? cause i sure know i do. corrugated pipes = ow

  • CJohnson Says:

and by the way, that table to rail idea was gnarly. deff gunna try that one out sometime. sick part.

  • ollie mcfilth Says:

SIMON can you come to marquette MI for teh video premiere of "this video sucks" 10-6-09?

  • Logan Says:

What is the funnest part of snowboarding for you, whether its filming, backcountry trips, rail sessions, picnic table sessions, whatever and why?

  • Alex Says:

Don't kids fucking understand that to be a professional snowboarder you don't need to be constantly laying down hammers and the big tricks? half of the kids now have absolutely no style and just throw themselves. I don't mean no style as in you must look like simons riding to have style. Simon is amazing, not only as a snowboarder with a style that thousands try to emulate, but a personality that no one can touch. Kids need to grow up and really understand what being a snowboarder is about

  • Chris Says:

Hey man, I was just wondering when you get injured, what do you do to keep yourself busy and not think too much about what your current situation is and how you are not able to snowboard? I tore my miniscus and sprained my wrist this past winter, and i couldn't stop thinking about how badly i wanted to ride.

btw man i think you have the best style in snowboarding, keep it up!

  • Eric Says:

Hey Simon, my question for you is this: what originally inspired you to become a professional snowboarder?

  • thurgoo_jenkins Says:

why did lauri leave nomis? how do you feel about the direction nomis is going as far as its ownership?

how different is it filming video parts now compared to promo copy back in the day?

its has to be a lot different filming video parts now that will live up to your reputation rather than back then when no body knew who you were and you had to try and make a video part to prove yourself

  • sammy Says:

    Dearest Simoney BO boney:

Do you feel like Joe Sexton's baby sitter?

OH, and do you ever get tired of always having to wear nomis?

  • Adam Franks Says:

    DUDE… Sick part man!!
Did snowboarding/skating ever take away from your schooling at all, and do you think god has answered your prayers and given you the strength to be where your are now and nomis! Did you still shred with old friends/crew that you use to once in awhile?

  • OG status Says:

thats like quite literally what you said in your firsthand and its not cheap by anyone's standards man…Nomis is such a sick clothing line but i cant show any support because its way too expensive…If your not gonna change your prices you should atleast make like Large talls along with xltalls ya know? maybe by the time you make those ill scrape together an extra 90 dollars for one of the tony hoodies

  • Gned Says:

that was a bias question…you made one option look shitty and the other option look awesome….

  • Gned Says:

whats wrong with smoking weed? dont be such a dick man…

  • joey nev Says:

When did you decide that you wanted to play a key role in the business side of snowboarding? A lot of riders just focus on the contest / video / promotion part of being a pro and i was just wondering how u came up with the idea for nomis and got so many of your sponsors to support your idea. peace.

  • Bear rider Says:

First of all, you are my favorite rider and Nomis is way awesome! I think it's really kool that you"re a Christian and that you value your riding time with your family and close friends. My brothers and I really want enter the "Simon Says" competition at Bear, but we never know when it is. When is it for this season? Can you tell Clayton at Bear Mtn. to make some of the flat jibs like rails and boxes with no take off so there is more of a challenge and some skate feel? I think that would make the Mtn. even kooler! What is your goal for this season?

  • Agirard Says:

    Simon,
First of all, I look up to you sooo much. I was wondering how you liked growing up in Squamish B.C.?? I live in the states and alot of cool shit comes out of Canada like music, hockey, and shredding!!!! Some day I want to move out to Canada when Im older, any suggestions??

P.S. I sent Nomis an envelope from the states but I couldn’t get a Canadian stamp for the returning envelope. It would be great if you could slap a Canadian Stamp on there and send the envelope back with some stickers. MUCH LOVE, PEACE

  • Tommy P Says:

  • Mathieu Poupart Says:

Yo SIMON! I'd like to get a straight answer on this one! IS NOMIS, MEANT TO BE SIMON BACKWARDS!?
And I was also wondering, have you ever been in a situation where you got knocked down, and just lost all motivation? I mean in your life time. What did you do, or what had to happen to get you back up and stoked again. I think it happens to a lot of us and it's dope to hear someone else' story.

  • Renaud Says:

Hey there Simon, great video part as per usual, just wondering though. There weren't very many switch tricks put down in your part. Is that because you weren't feeling comfortable with what you were hitting (becuase some of thoes rails were pretty tweaked) or just didn't get many switch tricks on film?

  • ol dirty Says:

have you ever spun frontside off your heels like normal people?

  • PACMAN Says:

how long do you think you would last in the durrrty ghetto if you walked in there in mid-summer with all of your snowboard clothes on along with your snowboard? do ya think you would get mugged?

  • rummy Says:

im curious why you copied your clothing name(your name backwards) from Oprah's production company Harpo?

Do you and her have ties?

  • jsteezy Says:

i hav recently been picked up by a few companies and goin am,will being sponsored make high school harder

  • ohiomatt33 Says:

    Hey Simon,

What would your perfect day look like? I know you're involved in a lot of different things, so what would you choose to do or not do? Wake up late and go ride some park and chill, or get up at the buttcrack o' dawn and get some fresh tracks? How about after riding, hang with the homies and skate or do some design work, or go out and hit the clubs?

    Thanks for keepin it steezy,
    Matt

  • kumar Says:

this idiot probably can't spin frontside or backside-seeing as he doesn't know the difference. and Jed is an Airblaster ripper; cheesedicks>ashbury

  • Nate Sovich Says:

Hey Simon i know you live in squamish but ride for bear does it ever wear you out making that same trip so many times back and forth in one season even though im sure your pretty used to travel, why did you decide to ride for bear instead of trying to say ride for whistler which is way closer to home?

  • everything sucks Says:

What are your thoughts on energy drinks and other non-endemic companies dipping their hands into snowboarding? Have you ever been approached by any of them for sponsorship?

  • dope Says:

Hey, im currently a freshman at colorado mountain college in steamboat springs, Colorado studying Ski and Snowboard Business. So what is some advice you would give somebody who doesn't want to become a pro snowboarder but someone who wants to work in the snowboard industry for a company or designer?

Thanks, and keep up the sick clothes and video parts.

  • Mike Says:

    Simon—
Why do you think the snowboarding industry and we as riders have been so quick to dismiss and forget about the riders who came before us and moved snowboarding forward?

Although there have been some recent developments (for instance, the attention Bryan Iguchi has gotten in the past few years and Stepchild’s support for legends like Terry Kidwell and Tom Burt), snowboarding seems to lack the sense of gratitude and continued support skating and surfing give its pioneers and legends. Do you think the level of respect we give these riders is likely to change? And if so, why? Thanks.

  • balls Says:

how come youve done the same tricks for 5 years?

  • Austen Says:

Was there ever a moment in your life where you just knew you were going to snowboard for the rest of your life. Describe the moment and what you were thinking.

  • Nick Cosulich Says:

What are your favorite things going on the snowboard industry right now? Do you think there is too much negativity? Any ideas on how to get rid of this negativity?

  • Steve Says:

When did you ever make the mental decision to throw all your cards in and focus on riding? What kind of stuff went on hold once you made shredding a full time commitment; What's still on hold? What non-riding goals are you anticipating? Have a rad season; stay healthy, have fun.

  • Matt Says:

dude simon your the man! i respect the straight edge gansta bro you on and you sure can kill it on the streets. Beside nomis being simon backwards how did you could up with the sick symbol? What do you prefer p3 to true twin? How do you stay the straight edge gansta everyone knows and looks up too?

  • Matt Says:

how did you come up with wanting to make nomis the illest clothing company ever? if you could only shred with either jp or sexton for the rest of your life how would it be?

  • McBoardin' Says:

    Hey Simon!
What's it like being a christian snowboarder in the industry? obviously there aren't too many of em…do you find it hard or awkward or anything doing your thing while all the other guys are out partying at premiers and stuff? Oh, and when are you gonna make your pro model in a 62! that 58 aint cutting it for us big guys! Thanks a lot man, your a huge inspiration!

  • BIGRED 11 Says:

  • Erick Espinoza Says:

Hey Simon, you have to be at the top of my fav riders, not just because you ride all terrain and you do it well but because Jesus is your lord and savior!! As a fellow christian and snowboarder, I dont feel alone in this industry that is far from being christianed based, just so you know you are NOT alone. How do you thank the lord of all of your blessings? and if there was one verse you could put on your clothing brand or pro board what would it be?

  • BIGRED 11 Says:

hey also we got a rail here in cali by del oro that is perfect. probably a 30-40 stair flat thin rail three options kinda steep but no snow. maybee if u bring truck loads it would be a gnarly shot no joke.

  • Steve Says:

  • pk in AK Says:

for a tall guy you're style remains super smooth. did your designs going into Nomis' outerwear and streetwear stem from you and andre' being taller guys?

  • dpaul Says:

Yo Simon…So what advice do you have on being a light in a dark place? Considering the snowboarding scene isn't always the easiest place to be as a christian, how do you deal with the struggles and differences that you face on a daily basis?

Congrats on tying the knott my man, super rad to hear.

PS thanks for helping me dust off at Big Bear, I slid out pretty gnarly on the Van when you were filming for Fuel's First hand, landed at your feet, glasses tossed and everything. Guess I couldn't nollie into it as well as you did haha…luckily when we were hiking it, you slipped on the hike and took a pretty funny tumble yourself, laughed it off pretty well tho. Curious if you remember… keep tearing it up, God Bless

  • dopest dope Says:

OK so i just watched Joes part, and in the first few minutes when you guys were all talking about helping each other got me thinking, its cool to see you guys taking Joe in the backcountry kinda helping him learning to ride powder and helping him hit jumps and rodeos and such. So when your out in the streets does Joe help you out with hitting rails and other urban features, and the same goes with JP too?

Thanks for your time solid part, solid movie. much love from Colorado!

  • Dave Says:

Hey Simon ! Ive never met you before but you have been such an inspiration to me as a snowboarder and a born again christian. You truly are a gift from God to the snowboarding industry. Being a christian and a pro shredder, do you feel like your being held to a standard to use your career and your status to bring people to know Jesus and gain salvation ?? and because people look up to you so much and may potentially idolize you, do you feel a struggle with staying humble, keeping true to your roots and not getting a puffed up ego ??

    God Bless you man.

How Many snowboards do you break each season, opening laps to late spring/early summer? Because i broke four signal snowboards last season in central new york, and wondered how durable your stepchild model was.

  • jake milliken Says:

    yo simon,
after seeing all of your videos i automatically assumed that you were another one of those dudes that gets wasted and stoned before riding all the time, but then i found out that you were a devoted christian and living the clean life.. i myself have recently gotten into some trouble with that stuff, and cannot afford to get in anymore. i was just wondering if you had any tips on how to stay clean without sacrificing any riding time with my friends who are not so sober.

ps- you have a sick laid back riding style.

  • Lorne Barclay Says:

    Hey Simon,

hey simon, whatsup, do you think that all the things that the industry money has brought to snowboarding, comps, the opportunity to live a dream doing something that you love for a job, making snowboarding an official sport, and bringing snowboarding into the mainstream, is good for the sport. Do you think that snowboarding is something great, and if you can share it with as many people as possible it's better. Or do you believe in snowboarding as an art form and that it's best in its true form, powder day riding with your buddies, and nothing in the world to worry about but snowboarding?

  • Travis K. Says:

Hey Simon, Congrats on Nomis - the line looks amazing this year; outerwear & streetwear - thanks for making XL-talls, most appreciated! With the sucess of your snowboarding career and now your clothing line do you feel any pressure now to maintaing certain level of either style and progression with your riding and/or sales and style with your company. I ask as a serious snowboader and someone who takes their work seriously and sometimes find the balance difficult. I can only imagine with you being in the spotlight with sponsor obligations and what-not that it would be even that much more intense? Thanks man, best of luck to you this season.
    One Love, Travis Kerr

  • jay Says:

Simon, after watching almost every video on youtube of you, i can honestly say that you some of the smoothest, sickest style I've ever watched. Plus, its cool to see a snowboarder who doesn't do drugs and hasn't fallen into the whole baggy pants vs. skinny pants scheme.

my question to you is, have you ever thought about what your life would be like without snowboarding?

  • Chris E. P Says:

What opportune moment in your life made you go for snowboarding, and not the conventional job/college etc. At what point did you tell yourself, that boarding is the only way to go. • mike mcdonald Says:

simon, bro your a mad shredder and i was wondering what drives you to do what you do is it family?friends?or just plain insanity because i know every time i sattle up after school i have this drive and its like adrenalin a pro football player would get before a game. so what makes you do what you do out on that snow?

  • B-Rent Says:

yo simon, whats your opinion on skiers, To me there essentially the same as us but on two pieces of wood instead of one.
