Cardrona 2009 Early Bird Season Pass Prices

Cardrona Alpine Resort has announced its 2009 season pass prices maintaining its position as excellent value in the Southern Lakes with both adult and student passes at just $540, children at $120 and the over 60s at $240.

A loyalty discount - adult and student $20, 60-74 year olds $10, child $5, will be offered to all 2008 pass holders purchasing a 2009 early bird Season Pass.

Duncan Veall, General Manager said keeping the season and ticket rates as low as possible demonstrates Cardrona’s commitment to supporting the local community and winter sports in general while continuing to develop the resort facilities.

“We aim to make skiing and snowboarding as affordable as possible for Wanaka and Queenstown locals across all sectors of the community as well as visitors to the resort, and hope they take advantage of the special Early Bird season prices.”

The Early Bird prices are available from 18 February until 18 March when they rise to $690 for adults and students, $170 for children and $265 for 60+. On 30 April they go to full season prices of $1,299 for adults, $1,180 for students, $290 for children and $395 for 60+.

As with previous years, children under six and adults over 75 can receive free day passes or have their own season pass for a small $5 processing fee.

Other lift pass prices announced include the multi-day pass and single day pass prices. The flexible Five Day Anytime Pass will cost $380 for adults, $315 for students and $195 for children. An adult day pass at Cardrona in 2009 will cost $85. A club card is also available giving discounts off lift passes as well as other winter activities in Wanaka and Queenstown.

For 2009 Cardrona is expanding its terrain with a new trail down the Arcadia Basin for more advanced skiers and boarders and will be certified by FIS for slalom and GS. The new trail will also have a $1m snowmaking upgrade. With snow making extended into the Captain’s Basin last year the entire resort will now be covered. New developments also include improvements to the 22ft half pipe and freestyle areas in preparation for the inaugural Winter Games NZ as well as the FIS World Cup.

Season passes are available online at www.cardrona.com or from the Wanaka town office. Cardrona is scheduled to open from 26 June to 4 October 2009.
