Monarch Mountain

Monarch Mountain is a smaller resort compaired to many others in Colorado. At arournd 800 acers of skiable terrain some may frown on this but that includes Mirkwood Basin and much more area accessable by snowcat tours. Monarch receives 360 plus inches of annual snow fall meaning lots of Pow days and never riding fabricated snow. There are four two seater lifts and one quad. Mirkwood Basin which is black and double black terrain is accessable by a fifteen to twenty min hike. For the 08-09 season Monarch had three terrain parks, all of which had nice features but were the only weak point for this resort. I have never waited in line more than a min or two and the runs are which number around 50 not including Mirkwood Basin are never crowded. If you are looking for great pow, no crowds, friendly attmosphere all at reasonable rates Monarch Mountain is the place to be!
