Biggest truth/dirty little secret about the snowboarding industry: It’s a sport for privileged white punks. I love it, but it’s the truth. End of story. Say whatever you want, but there’s no denying it. Stevie Bell and Keir Dillon are only two people, so please don’t mention their names as an argument.
Also, for the record, this comment board has 4 types of people. First, there are the people who talk shit about the video (group 1), then there are the people who talk shit about the people talking shit(group 2). Then there are the people who randomly post things that have nothing to do with the video (group 3). Group 2 usually talks shit about them as well. And finally, the people who actually say something positive but mostly really just get pumped on anything, ”Dude that video was awesome, great shredding, sick!”(group 4).
If there’s anything that’s perpetuating the absurdity of snowboarding and the scene that surrounds it(which is already completely ridiculous), it’s the comment board on this website.

Here’s what i’m sayin, i was at copper thursday and there was sick untouched pow in the back bowls and as i’m takin eagle lift up after lunch i see kids hikin rails and that just seems stupid to me. here u have pow and ur wastin time on something u can do in ur backyard. not to mention i can’t afford to blow 500 bucks on a new board every year so it’s gotta last and rails just fuck it up. i’d be more than happy to do rails if i got 5 free boards a year but pow comes first and foremost in my book

it actually it is the hardest 3 onto rails
unless u want to go heel backside which is like technically impossible
try a frontside off the toes ONTO A RAIL, not just a jump.
being able to stay stable on the rail after the akward 3 is not easy… either way a 3 any way onto a downrail is legit

how many times in the last few years have you seen original and creative jump shots, you can only grab your board so many ways, spin so many times, and flip so many rotations. if you havnt noticed, urban riding is the most progressive and creative aspect of snowboarding, being able to see a piece of arcutectre and make it an oppertuiniuty. now obvy theres travice rice shiz that is new and w.e but thats circus shinagins that non of us will be able to achieve forreasons including money, money, and more money. now on the other hand for thoose who grew up with skateboards allready are set up for urban riding, and seeing how its free and all it takes is a lil easier than purcheseing a truck, sled, gas, probe, tranciver, shoverl, and you have to have at least one other rich friend who can afford all that and repairs. rails ever day you see shit you never seen b4, jumps… not so much

If you think rails are wack it is probably because you are old and just don’t understand (I think they are wack but I am old, and would rather hit a table or drop a cliff than catch my old balls edges on a rail and bruise my ego in front of some kids 1/3 my age who are gonna vibe me). But that’s the way it is, the sport will eventually outgrow us old balls, and young kids will kill the new scene while we sit back and gripe about how it used to be…
All in all, sick vid, not a fan of the Ashbury shit or the hippie shit, and usually think the shred is pretty poor-ass at best, but this one actually was worth watching. Shred on.

I hear what you are saying, I meant more along the lines of the new scene will always focus on what the kids want, because it’s those kids’ parents who keep the industry flowing by buying into the trends… While they market the new shit, I sit back and laugh about how in a few years the sag will be gone, the hipsters will be gone, and everyone will be dressing up like pirates or robots, and I will sit back and wonder what the fuck happened to snowboarding, and just laugh my balls off and enjoy the fact I am not at work.
