  • Geoff Isringhausen Says:

    good video too

  • some guy Says:

just seems way too limited to me, but hey each to their own. i’m sure it’s be mad fun in pow, but frustrating anywhere else…

  • Stevend Says:

    nice vid

  • b-rad Says:

    burton=sucks noboarding=good

  • iwillmakedinosaursdie Says:

its like a new spin on how snowboarding first started, and at first snowboarders could only ride in the back-country, it seems appropriate that they’ve done the same here

  • rick Says:

Some people think we are lucky to live in quebec because of the rail scene…. Really! Who wants to ride rails when you have endless pow and a noboard? It looks so fun to ride, reminds me the early years of snowboarding! Everybody riding together, so many tricks to create… I would never use bindings again. Johan Olofson is the man, he was a pionner in backcountry freestyle and he is now a pionner in this amazing new sport. Can’t do it in Qc but i really enjoy watching these vids… It really brings back the same feeling that when i was watching snowboard on tv in 1990 but didn’t own one at that time!

  • 7springer Says:

yea, no doubt, it looks fun. But, ill take my binders over a no-board anyday. Go Pens

  • slashaas Says:

bring it.. id do that in a heartbeat. i bet my knees would thank me too. no more bullshit pain from over under rotating you just get ejected!! FUN!!!

  • penis in your pooper Says:

damnit! why did burton decide to make something cool… now i may have to break my streak of 5 years to not owning a piece of burton equipment.. but hey! looking at the bright side. crested butte bc just got 4 new feet!!!!!!!!!!!! woooooo woooo woooooppie!!!

  • yeaaaaah Says:

Whats wrong with burton u get a new board every year cuz they break so i think there fuckin awsome ahahaha

  • kennyp Says:

    jonas=awesome

  • FooSho Says:

7Springs in the house uhhhhh son! See you at the 4/20 games.

    um…. why?

  • iwillmakedinosaursdie Says:

    dude March 24th, 2009 - 2:04 pm

“dude garf your an idiot. without binders snowboarding wouldnt be snowboarding. if u think they’re such a bad trend then go to walmart and buy a snerfer dumb ass.”

this was left on the video about how to prep for a back-country shoot/ride as a reply to “garf” who mentioned that noboarding is the shit http://snowboarding.transworld.net/2009/03/23/get-your-kit-together-with-get-real/

pretty funny how TWS basically told this kid to fuck off by posting this video on the site even though im sure it wasn’t on purpose

    “garf” called it, props

  • turk turkleton Says:

using a rope is cheating and basically makes the whole concept pointless. if you have to use a rope, you should be using bindings

  • coastal Says:

    so good.

  • Honest Ed Says:

This seems like another ploy by grandmaster himself Jake Burton.

Kid 1: “No-boarding is so cool, I better get into it!”

Kid 2: “Buy a ‘No-Board’, they have the market cornered.”

Jake Burton: “Money in the bank!!”

No-boarding would be cool if they didnt have that rope to hold the board against their feet with. It would be like snow skating with bindings…snowboarding. Burton’s bought these guys and is trying to hype this stuff so that they can get their hands on more of your Benji’s. I’m not buying into it.

  • Honest Ed Says:

    exactly what im saying homie.

  • Peter Wast Says:

i’m gonna agree with honest ed on this one. burton are a bunch of scam artists. they were offering my contracts on this site a few years ago and when i went down to headquarters they told me suck a nut cause someone was playing a joke on me. i really hate them now.

  • woo Says:

damn that zipline shot at the end was so sick

  • e2rqey Says:

hey!your one of the guys in those MH podcasts

  • iwillmakedinosaursdie Says:

the first shredders used a rope, bindings evolved from the idea that instead of holding onto a rope to remain in control you can just use some straps to keep both feet planted….this is a revert back to the roots of snowboarding utilizing better construction techniques that weren’t available when these guys first started doing this, no one said YOU had to buy into it

  • Pavlantos Says:

Having one on your second CFR rack is nice when you find something in the backcountry that is a little to small to sesh with your binders but perfect for surfing the white wave. Its not about what others think its about creating a day of unforgettable moments with your hommies and riding on a canvas that you can look back at and smile or feel like oh that could have looked way cooler and if your lucky the next day your tracks are covered so you can continue onto your next creation.

Turk-Maybe don’t worry about the rope if you want to take the extra time to learn the technique with out it drop in.

I don’t like sitting in bed on a pow with a knee full of freshly cut meat. but at least I have some thing to keep me occupied.

  • Honest Ed Says:

im not buying into it. in fact, im encouraging others not to buy into it, at least not now. last thing the world needs is a bigger burton. i thought you’d be the first to respond to my comment, given that this is what you seem to do for a living.

  • iwillmakedinosaursdie Says:

i wasn’t speaking to you i was talking to turk

  • Honest Ed Says:

haahahaha now im sure that this guy is paid to be here. stop saying stuff like “we as snowboarders” when youre propping up the company that has thrown the sports image in the garbage. now say something like “shaun white is the most respected and universally skilled snowbaorder ever to live” and well see how many people respond, ya mark.

  • Birdrider Says:

I’ll give you a god damn no board.

    1) Buy some burton bindings
    2) break your bindings 5 fucking times! (truth)
    3) Wait for months wile burton sits on your warranty.
    4) …… no board:(
    5) Profit!

  • floridapowderskate Says:

Noboards are all about snowboarding roots and they bring surf into the hills. Only problem is that rope and the versatility of these boards. Powder only. Get a florida powderskate. You can snow surf and go anywhere your snowboard can with out binders.

  • Honest Ed Says:

then i shall make the following of reality:

    1. you most likely hate on nike because you bought nike boots at the beginning of the season thinking “this will be sweet!” then you double ejected on your first hit because nike’s are made of danny kass’s hair and cobra dogs condiments.

    2. your assumption that at 30 assholes magically begin “giving back” is faulty. unless of course, by giving back you mean retiring and dropping all his sponsors. that is the only way shaun could give back.

    3. youre rant at the end was lame. you took what i said compeltely out of context (as you seem to with everybody else). nuff said.

  • haha loser Says:

you HAVE to be some little fat kid that is horrible at snowboarding and thinks hes being cool by posting shit on snowboarding sites and then saying “i only do this just to see how many people will reply because youre all LOSERS HAHAHAH” dude just shut the fuck up and get off this site already everybody thinks that youre a d-bag

  • haha loser Says:

not you honest ed i was talking about iwillmakedinosaursdie

  • iwillmakedinosaursdie Says:

hey honest ed: i dislike nike because nike has no business in snowboarding…period…i rock vans and love em

30 was just a random age i pulled out of my ass, like i was trying to be serious about that, i get the feeling that shaun eventually will drop his sponsors but that doesn’t equal giving back, he can set up contests, he can set up charities, he can do a number of things but dropping his sponsors and retiring is no way to give back if anything that’s saying “fuck you” to the rest of the community

your rants are lame, you follow me around like you’ve got a crush on me, that so called “rant” was to show you that speculating about me is pretty retarded since you obviously don’t know jack shit about me

and as for you above me, keep crying, it’s gonna get you somewhere one day

  • iwillmakedinosaursdie Says:

also honest ed: you started an arguement with me when i wasn’t even talking to you in the first place, you never even rebutted my original comment to what you said instead you speculated that i worked for some company and would next say that shaun white is the end all in snowboarding, so why don’t we go back to where we started and you can explain to me how the company that has made snowboarding what it is today deserves nothing but disrespect and hate

  • Honest Ed Says:

    so correct

  • Honest Ed Says:

why does burton deserve nothing but disrespect and hate?

    1. jake tried to patent the snowboard even though he did not come up with the idea in the first place.

    2. burton bought out previously respectable companies and turned them into a shitshow. burton’s attempt to reconcile the core market through retention of each brand’s original name is fairly see-through. it is a ploy by jake to try to appeal to legitimate snowboarders as well as wal mart customers. i find this disrespectful to snowboarders and the integrity of the industry.

    3. burton’s mark ups on product are insane. burton is no longer a snowbaord company. they are a public business which has unfortunately brought the lifestyle into the mainstream. many companies have done this, but i find burton’s participation most offensive because they still claim to be a brand that represents old school snowboarding.

its about corporate responsibility. many businesses lose their integrity when they go big. this can, unfortunately, be said of burton. therefore, i feel that they deserve negative publicity wherever it can be given.

  • ben Says:

    honest ed is a kook.

burton doesn’t own noboard. as far as i know, noboard as a company is really just the stomp pad/board interface. burton just developed a softer version of the fish that incorporates this system.

look at the bullshit you’re spewing on this thread. you turned the entire conversation into this ridiculous burton/nike argument, when the former doesn’t really have that much to do with this post and the latter is completely unrelated. if you don’t like a company’s gear, make your point by not buying it. you come off like a fucking 14 year old girl debating whether abercrombie is cooler than holister.

much respect to the noboard crew. when you take away whatever stupid politics are involved in snowboarding, at the end of the day these dudes are riding deeper snow than all of us. period.

  • iwillmakedinosaursdie Says:

good you know your shit unlike most of these burton haters who just hop on the bandwagon because it’s the “cool thing to do”

it’s good to see someone who can create some valid points against the argument that burton has brought snowboarding to where it is today and that they deserve respect and not hate….i ask people that all the time and i’m never given an answer besides “they took my board!! and it took them a month to send it back!! and they’re so popular!!! and shaun white is a d-bag!! fuck shaun white! fuck burton!”

props for that, i won’t shutup forever on this site simply because you’re smart and you know your shit but at least you have my respect….i really don’t see a reason to continue this though since you gave me a solid answer to my question and i agree with all the points you have made

  • iwillmakedinosaursdie Says:

that was to ed by the way

  • VT bEAST Says:

oh shit dinosaur he just shat all over you, you gonna take that?

  • Chedda Says:

burton bindings choke the fat one
and this videos song did too

  • WELCH VILLAGE Says:

    the REAL welch village..

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wk73WiCGNbs

  • Honest Ed Says:

you’ve responded as i had hoped. thank you. as far as i am concerned this need not continue.

  • Turk Turkleton Says:

I don’t buy into it, especially when they use a rope.

  • Honest Ed Says:

by the way, i never wanted you to shut up forever. what i was looking for was a seperation of fact from opinion. when one posts as much as you do, fact and opinion should not be slurred to attract negative attention. thats all. im out.

  • brady Says:

have you ever gone no-boarding Honest Ed? I guess not, cause if so you would know how much f$%king fun it is. burton (I own none of there products at the moment) may have rights to the stomp pad, but you can put it on any board you like. Get a clue… playing in the snow is FUN!

  • sdlksdklskld Says:

burton bindings break boards. theres this little cosmetic, flipped up corner on the back right and left of each binding that creates a pressure point when you land on your tail or tailblock which makes your board snap.. Buy some unions, which have this foam material instead of a sharp plastic corner.

  • Geoff Isringhausen Says:

hahahahaha yup, theres a new one out today check it out.

    http://www.mthigh.com/video/

  • Big Props Says:

    …….WOW……..

  • fromagesfondus Says:

The comment setup is retarded, look how narrow this is. They need to change it.

  • idiots Says:

Burton is PRIVATELY owned, which means it isn’t publicly traded on the stock market, like DC, Rossignol, GNU, and Lib-Tech are, which are all owned by Quicksilver Inc. Volcom is also on the stock market, as well as K2, etc. etc. etc. So all you guys claiming that Burton is the biggest company in snowboarding, buying up all the other brands, don’t know what you are talking about. Burton’s spending power compared to Quicksilver, Volcoms, and the other mega-conglomerates is miniscule.

It’s built in to snowboard culture to hate “The Man,” and to go against the grain, but people just hate Burton on that principle, not because there is any good reason to hate. Jake Burton made snowboards in his garage, and still gets 100 days on hill a year, if that’s not someone to support, then I don’t know who is.

  • db Says:

boarding was meant to be in powder and noboarding is bring it back to its roots. shred the gnar and enjoy it. no park laps. no lines. just you, your board and the snow. props

  • db Says:

turk turkleton is douche and i bet has never riden pow

  • Doughboy Says:

Everyone stop doing tail blocks, your tight jeans are going to rip. Thank you in advance.

  • Kaygeebee Says:

God, i rue the day these star fucking hipsters started caring about snowboarding, who gives a fuck about what brand was smart enough to buy the rights on it… the shit is here its cool and you should respect all aspects of this lovely thing we call snowboarding weather or not your doing front boards or pow slashes in tight pants or steezy hip waiters riding burton or union bindings your still having fun… So shut up keep your two cents to yourself and congratulate those who are opened minded enough to create with so many fucking critics around.

  • Turk Turkleton Says:

haha, true. turk turkleton is a douche

  • joey Says:

Honest ed and Iwillmakedinosaurs die are the two biggest kooks I have ever encountered on this website. GO SNOWBOARDING.

  • iwillmakedinosaursdie Says:

season’s over, all the mountains are closed or closing, and i don’t have anymore money….i wish i could go ride, but it’s impossible right now

  • e2rqey Says:

very nice was that filmed this spring?

  • anonymous Says:

Burton may be all about making money, but if you’ve ever ridden their stuff or read about some of the tech they use it’s pretty cool.

  • Jon the salmonella snack Says:

get a snowboard that is not a burton and make your own no board, you could figure it out.

  • yada yada Says:

burton is hated on because their warranty department sucks. they dont help out the riders at all. and another is that their boards are made in china. cheap production and a shitty warranty department. pretty greedy if you ask me. yes quiksilver owns dc, lib, rossi, gnu and roxy but most of those are made in washington state and spain. more expensive to produce and cheaper at the store. libs pee on burton. quiksilver doesnt outsource because they want core riders to buy their products. the average douche has a burton because they are misinformed by the mainstream. mervin 4 life.

  • then move Says:

move to oregon. snow all year. then you would be shredding and not rereading messages all day long. by the way, how many times do you reread your messages on this site. probably way to many times huh? ah nevermind dont move to oregon, we have way to many douches up here. peace out girl scout.

  • oops Says:

    ya sorry about that buddy

  • iwillmakedinosaursdie Says:

lol when i’ve got the money to move to oregon or even go to school out west im gonna

fuck global warming this area of NY just doesn’t get snow like it used to

  • then move Says:

hahahah, you believe that global warming bullshit. you are probably all for obama. hahahah. my president is black, and half white, he works for the bankers, yeah thats right.

  • burtonsuxxx Says:

most retarded shit ive ever seen, burton is straight garbage… Jake Burton sucks dick for busfair and noboards home.

  • cholo Says:

    Hi Guys,

Not to sure if people are going to read this. I helped create noboarding, Burton hasn’t bought us out, we are collaborating. The movie above was made by the Noboard crew not Burton ( they just helped with the cost of editing and animation) therefor they get a sponsor mention. However no decisions were made by Burton on this one.

Noboarding was created because it is a really good time. We are working with Burton to get the idea out there. For the few people that hate on it, then fine. It’s worth it for the crews that get it.

    Cholo

  • Cholo's giant bodyguard Says:

If you give it some time, you can do it like me, shredding pow with no rope, making it look like you’re strapped in.
This is only possible if you actually ride it, as opposed to the virtual methodology required to dribble all over your keyboard.
Once you really get it, you can move around on the snow like never before. No getting stuck, no “anchor to the bottom” if the pitch lets go in a avy and a killer platform to stop and turn around on to watch your bros come down.
On my last heli trip, the guide was blown away. He too thought it was a joke, but was converted by days end.
Honestly, the people shit talking it couldn’t possibly have done it.

  • powskater Says:

Check out powderskating if you don’t like the rope.
