  • RDR bitch Says:

    What about Nicholas?

  • yep Says:

what about nicholas? granted he has sick style and one of the best methods in snowboarding but as far as progression wise i dont see much coming out from his corner of the ring.

  • ant20 Says:

I’ve got tons of respect for Jake Burton too, but i’m just not sure what or when or where or how Burton Snowboards sold out. I mean, and please enlighten me if i’m wrong but, do you think they sold out because the company is so big? Is success selling out?

  • dimitre Says:

Winterstick made boards with edges in 1972, five years before Burton started making knock-off Snurfers and more than 10 years before Burton had edges.

  • yearzero Says:

this new video player sucks dick. it fucked my computer up!

  • birdrider Says:

    Two words. Shawn White. LOL.

Also leave it to burton to post last years fotage mid this season. They need to keep it fresh.

    And something something DCP!

  • jake burton Says:

my company sucks. burton boards suck. you kids dont realise i roll around in the extra money you guys pay for this crap.

  • sell out Says:

ant20, burton sold out by turning snowboarding into a business. they buy out every other company they can, but keep those companies running under their original names, so that people don’t know they’ve been bought out. they keep that quiet because they know that real snowboarders arent keen on buying from mega companies. essentially, they are liars that will do anything to make more money. They sell their boards at huge markups (about 250%) which inflate the entire market. those behaviours are what make burton a sell out company.

  • no hes not Says:

saying “jake burton is like the god of snowboarding” is like saying “jake burton’s business decisions have helped the sport of snowboarding progress in a positive direction”. either way your talkin bullshit, fool.

  • waytogo Says:

quote a guy who gets paid by jake on whether or not jake has sold out. thats a legitimate, unbiased way to look at it, dumbass.

  • Mitch Says:

i’m sick of the people who are saying shit about burton, that they’re crappy and the boards are bad or whatever. stop, who even cares? this is an amazing video and leaves me craving for snow. just appreciate snowboarding and appereciate this video itself.

awesome video…no pow where i live at the moment…i need to go to japan.

  • 303 Says:

fuck that sticker on his board 1/20/09 obama is a fuckin bum ans a commusnist. i’m sure he’ll rip that shit off when obama taxes the fuck out of his business

  • buster Says:

that sucked! just like everything burton does. excpt for the love jackets, they are really huge.

burton sold out when they started to make snowboarding a buisness and making teamrider-contracts like “you have to ride at least 3 contests per month or your out” and when they kicked the uni-ic team.

jacke is an asshole. he has no understanding of snowboarding any more. The DOMINANT is officially not a jibboard. u fuckers ayrghhh

  • jjmoto Says:

Burton did make snowboarding more into a business then any other company but they still have one of the best if not the best teams right now and alot of shit is over priced but its still legit and if you dont like their shit dont buy it then half of these kids who talk shit have ridden maybe one board or binding and really have no idea unless youve ridden everyboard made buy them dont say anything

  • jjmoto Says:

whens the last time jeremy or trouble did a contest and how bout jussi does the x games and thats about it yea riders like shaun kevin pearce and mason do a lot of contests but unless you have signed a burton contract you have no idea what the agreements are

  • hmm Says:

yo good luck with that arguement. if you wanted to ride every board burton sells it would cost you somewhere in the neighbourhood of 7 or 8 thousand dollars, maybe more. if you want to throw all the nidings on there, add another 5 thousand. boots, add another 5 thousand. so, unless you’re rollin around in 17 or 18 thousand dollars that you want to waste, no chance youre gonna be able to try out all their overpriced junk. oh i forgot, unless youre jake burton, hes rollin in money that he ripped off all you idiots!

  • uninc? ya right Says:

i never credit jake with inventions, but there is one thing he did invent in snowbaording: boards for “causes” that appeal to snowboarders. uninc was burtons attempt to appeal to the core rider market (which they fittingly lost) when they went mega asshole corporate monopoly on us. uninc was nothing but a sham. god bless jussi, hes got it made. jeremy is like jake burtons lazy, borderline retarded kid who wont leave home. hes gotta go.

  • jjmoto Says:

demos or borrow someones and i didnt actually mean every piece of gear my point was unless you own it or have ridden it yourself you cant say shit about it

  • jjmoto Says:

your right about uninc but jeremy? when you put down a video part year after year for a someone like Mack Dawg then talk shit about jeremy but until then you cant say shit about him

  • ? Says:

Man get a clue if they mark up 250% then it should help the rest of the market, it’s also better for the retailer cause they make more margin. If snowboarding wasn’t turned into a business then this site wouldn’t exist.

  • john john Says:

ok first off burton has copied many ideas of other snowboard companies -Lib-tech- reverse camber….bataleon for the rise in the affective edge…. and then claim its their “all new board” also i have ridden and owned many burton snowboards while growing up… they are ok but when i broke them the burton reps would blow me off and make an “excuse” as to why I broke it….. Lib-tech has been so good to me… after breaking one of their boards they have just been hooked me up with a brand new board WITHOUT A PROBLEM…. this is what makes companies stand out and for burton???? who knows what they are thinking.. buying all sorts of companies like forum and al merick, chanel islands it seems as though they have a ego issue

  • annonymous Says:

Honestly i don’t care about the whole “burtons stupid” argument, A snowboards a snowboard, go ride it. If you want to sit and bitch out all the brands and riders piss off and go ride skis.

  • Ryan Says:

Why does everyone have to hate sooo bad all the time. Quit being such haters. You don’t like Burton? Fine, don’t buy anything Burton. The vid part was sick, “Its always snowing somewhere” was sick, their stuff is good quality. Get over it. Shit I only ride Ride boards but you don’t see me acting like some elitist that can shit talk one of the biggest snowboarding companies in the world. Are you pro? Do you compete? Then don’t judge the companies or the riders if you aren’t better than them. Jones is a quality rider. He doesn’t like the competition circuit and I admire him for that. Pure riding on the mountain and in the streets. Snowboarding didn’t use to be so damn competitive until competitions. It was about shredding the pow with friends. Its all in good fun.

  • esnift Says:

Problem is that most of the people spreadin the hate are 12-15 year olds without any understanding of capitalism or economics. To them it’s “cool” to hate big companies, but what would they do if their favorite label made it big. Saying they sold out doesn’t even kind of fit. If anything just call it going corporate.

Burton has commercialized snowboarding but that is fine by me because the more people that ride = more money in the industry means more funds to progress it. Each of the 4 big tables at PC costs $15,000. Where do you think that money comes from? Not my crew and the other 5% of riders that actually hit them. Its the other 95% of weekend warriors decked out in Burton head to toe. So I welcome them for the sake of the sport.

  • bret Says:

when you start selling boards at non skate shop snowboard shop stores like, rei, dicks, sports athority, that is when u sell out… burton is the biggest sellout but not the only

  • bret Says:

calm down, it wasnt that good

  • bret Says:

OOOO sheeit ur soo right, u made me piss my self

  • Z Says:

Okay so you’re saying expanding your market area is selling out. Sounds like you would never make it as an entrepreneur. Just because they sell boards in non skate shop snowboard shops doesn’t mean you’ve sold out. I don’t care for Burton snowboards, but definitely like their jackets/pants/gloves/bags/boots. Why is there always that person that has to hate on a company? Kind of dumb if you ask me.

  • ooooooooooooooohhhh Says:

snap looks like sombodys a dumb bitch

  • ooooooooooooooohhhh Says:

    i straight up shat myself

  • slashaas Says:

ok kiddos you can take your janky made in a smallghetto factory products that WHEN they break fuck up you cant get ahold of any one it takes forever or they dick you over and have them to yourself. I DONT like the prices but burton gear holds it own for sure and if it does fuck up W48. WHO else has anything close to that warranty? they make dope gear they help keep your favorite little ski chair running so stop bitching and go start your own wack company since snowboarding is sooo in right now. DOIT.

  • shop kid Says:

burton undercuts small shops so they get their greedy hands on more money est board system forces people into expensive bindings that they dont have enough money for plus the system slips and sucks. plus they sole the idea from forum and claimed it was their own.

  • ant20 Says:

Sorry there guys, I thought selling out was the part where you sold your “core” company and cashed in - hence the selling out - and left the work you’d been doing to someone else. Not the part where you didn’t ever sell your company.

And Burton sponsoring Shawn White is not selling out. I bet he was pro for Burton before you had ever strapped in and before any energy drink companies knew he existed.

  • ant20 Says:

amen jjmoto. I do think jeremy’s an asshole but damn he can ride

  • ant20 Says:

you don’t have to buy EST bindings for an ICS board.
They don’t slip - learn how to use a screwdriver.
Oh so the ICS idea was ok if forum did it but when Burton did it’s lame.
    Wow! you’re in the know.

  • akong Says:

if jeremy wasnt a pioneer of snowboarding himself, burton would have dropped him. his too big to let him go, even if he doesnt do comps.

why do you think everyone is flocking to stepchild ever since JP got signed. stepchild if far from corporate bull shit, but when a big name goes into a company look what happens. think of all the people burton will lose if jeremy gets dropped

  • akong Says:

they didnt steal it from forum, they bought forum and then picked up on the binding system.

selling out is how burton lost really the meaning of snowboarding and went straight for the money. its not about just having fun as much as trying to make as much money as possible by undermining all other companies

  • akong Says:

people arent really saying bad about the gear but mainly about how burton sells out and over prices everything.
