dude, the other day, sal masekala called shaun the fourth jonas brother. case in point they don’t think he’s a god. if you think he doesn’t deserve it go talk to the judges instead of bitchin about it here.But also, bias judges or not, these guys should be beating shaun. Danny Davis and Scotty Lago didn’t even qualify, two guys that have the ability to beat shaun.there are so many people that can beat shaun nowadays they don’t have any excuse. there was a time where shaun was untouchable, but that era is over. and dudes KP rides a 1000 dollar board, shauns costs half that. moral: the board don’t make a difference. i got a new rule for posting hate on transworld: post video proof of yourself topping whatever you’re hating on.

Pearce went huge, definitely bigger than white on every jump, but shaun’s invert tricks are super smooth. That is a tough call to decide.

I love all the conspiracy theories. “Judge’s biased towards Shaun/Burton”, “SHuan gives head to the jduges” etc. etc.
More likely reason Shaun won: HIS RUN WAS BETTER. Fairly simple, children.
THere is def some SOUR GRAPES/jealousy among riders/fans (cough Travis Rice, Cough ANti Auttie, cough Mason Aguirre) that Shaun wins all the time…

KP, run was way more excited and stylish than Shaun’s. I would have been stoked to see him win. The problem was that KP didn’t hit his last hit on the pipe on the one run he stomped. Shaun through his stock Mctwist on the last hit, on the one run he stomped. It comes down to points!! Read the USSA or FIS Judging booklet and you will see that each trick earns a certain amount of points. That trick can only be awarded X amount of points. Style and Amplitude decide if that trick will be scored to it’s highest mark or points taken away for the lack there of. The only reason kevin lost is because he didn’t get one last hit 6 instead of 7. Shawn hit 7! It comes down to numbers! That is Competitive snowboarding….deal with it. If you don’t like it go ride pow and steeps, park, rails, and what ever you want. Stop all this negativity!!! Get your facts strait and if you think you can Judge better than take the courses through FIS and USSA and become a sanctioned professional Judge!
Now the real question is if KP had stuck his first run, where he fell on his 7 hit on a front Ollie Opp. Which was bigger and more stylish than Shauns Mctwist. Would he have won? I think yes!!! Then the debate would be on for whether or not the judges are favoring Shaun.

the back rodeo obviously made the difference to the judges. as a sidenote: kp did the exact same run as he did at the BEO, shaun spiced it up a little bit. but you know, everyone who’s not into country music and doesn’t like bad boy 2-ish movies - basically everybody who has some kind of taste - rather watch KP do backside turns on the slopes all day than shaun doing huge 12s.

to the white haters: I remember seeing the first picture of white in TWS. He was probably 5 years old and was doing a hand plant or something like that. I think the caption read something like “The future of snowboarding..” - and they got it right.
Now, I think it’s time for Shaun to truly take the lead and bring his skills to the next level. He should look at his fellow Burton riders for inspiration (Kelly, the Cat) and leave contests behind him. If not, he’ll go down in history as the best event rider… but not even close as the best ever.

You know nothing about my view of Snowboarding bro…Chill out!! That is how comps are judged like it or not. There are good side and bad side to everything. Just making the point of how SW Won the event. Plus with out X games and other such events. Snowboarding would be were it is today! Pick up Transworld Business. Even if Shaun won using the set out “point scale” or whatever, it doesn’t mean that his run was better. I mean do these judging standards also include the style and the size of the tricks being thrown down? If you watched KP’s run against SW’s run you can see KP clearly going bigger, along with having more style. It just looked like it flowed better. I’m not hating on Shaun, his run was good, I just think that they shouldn’t use a set point scale to judge an event that encompasses more that just the tricks.

i think the judges are super biased towards shaun but i honestly thought his run was better. he did a backside 9 and a back rodeo that kevin didnt do. kevin may have boosted a little higher but the difference wasnt that extreme. why isn’t shaun in any of these interviews? he is probably too busy talking to target, hot wheels, and jerking off to himself to talk to an actual snowboard website

FOr those of you that don’t skate, haven’t ridden a pipe let alone a 22 footer can rabble all you want.
If you don’t like poster boy, fine. Choose your own flavour of the month. But you have alot to learn before your comments add up to more than a stupid unnatural jib or a chest-high 900.
But who lands without petting the cat? Who gets the most solid back to back pumps which result in amplitude, consistency and pipe usage? Who lands highest on the wall? Shaun White.
Flailing arms, lack of speed and yelling “whoa” is what separates all these guys who have trouble beating him.
Even when White lost last time, the winning run was only a winner because Shaun’s run was under par.
Hello– it is going to take a new level to raise to get a proper victory against him, and that means better physique, no booze, mega-speed on the run-in and stomping with a solid edge at the top of each wall.
When the whiners watch the Olympics here in Vancouver next year, they may cry that our local Canadian riders got gypped, that Kass or Davis got cheesed or Autti was burned. None of these guys ride vert the same way SW does and until someone can, no victory over SW’s will be any ‘next level’.
Think Michalchuk, Powers or Terje and understand how untouchable they were. Today’s other riders lack the consistency and textbook style that these and other veterans developed.
Wearing a cool helmet or grenades with funky hairdos and last names will not favor to the judges.
It’s nice to hear y’alls so into the pipe but until you can ride it yourself, I think it’s hard for you to be a judge.
Oh, and crails are straight airs, they pretty much don’t count. Anybody can huck…now go back to your economy…

That huge red hair and the fleece over is mouth makes him look ridiculous. I was at the X games and the Dew Tour and Shaun white is good. He throws down. He’s good one of the best pipe riders and he gets sh** done when its crunch time. It was close the competition but they way Kevin Pearce threw and his style, it just looked better and the tricks were comparable. Kp definately threw bigger and Shaun it just seemed as though he threw his run together haphazard and half-hearted. I don’t like shaun’s rockstar status and his attitude, btu he’s good though KP should have won

Fact: Shaun White doesn’t control who wins and who thinks he is amazing(ie the judges and the x games blowing his dick.)
Fact: That doesn’t mean he has to be such a dick, not congratulate other riders when loses, and completely be an arrogant bitch when he does win (see this years and last years x games for examples)
Myth: People on here talking shit about Shaun are jealous of his bank and all the money he makes and thats why they say the snowboarding world hates him.
Fact: Snowboarders wouldn’t be stoked on Travis Rice, Andreas Wiig, Danny Kass, Kevin Pearce etc. if they hated everyone who brought home lots money for snowboarding. Most snowboarders who do make it big do care what the snowboarding community thinks cuz snowboarding is about friendship and fun. Shaun is none of those things, and if he doesn’t care, then he is really the opposite of what the sport is about.
Fact: Pearce should of won. Shaun White is a bitch, and not only cuz he is rich and won, but because of the whole atmosphere that he helped create about himself and his negative influence on the true core of the snowboarding community. Even if everything all you anti-haters said about why people hate him is true, he still must be doing something wrong to get so much resentment from people who really do know snowboarding, at least for the most part. (Making the assumption that if you actually know what transworld snowboarding is, you probably know more than the yuppies riding x games boards in missouri or some shit.)

Reasons.
Pipe. First hit Shaun did a waayy harder trick and went higher. Last hit, Shaun did something, Pearce didn’t. The middle portion, where Pearce admitedly went higher and had better style… on the same tricks… didn’t (in the judges minds) make up for the differences noted. There may have been a BS 9 in there by SHaun as well, that Pearce didn’t do….Get it? I don’t understand why so many people fail to graps the significance of the last Mctwist.
Slope. The channel gap 7 was INSANE! Shaun was only one to do channel and, other than Peetu, the only one to trick off the dick box. Those two things (in the judges minds) scored higher than an additional 180 off the last kicker (1080 vs. BS 12). He used the entire course…Pearce didn’t. How can you reward someone for being a pussy? Pearce pussied out of the dick box and the channel gap.
Big Air. Agreed. Americans are retarded.

Even though I think Pearce should have won as well, keep in mind that Shaun White doesn’t film, he doesn’t snowmobile 6am to 7pm in deadly avy territory everyday, he doesn’t get arrested for hitting handrails, he doesn’t build backcountry kickers, and he definitely doesn’t fly into Minneapolis/St. Paul or Burlington INTL. every time it snows a foot to go on “shot in the dark” jib missions. All this guy does is TRAIN FOR CONTESTS. His final run was super tech with stompy flawless landings. Again, Pearce went huge and probably shoulda/coulda won, but it’s Shaun White. The same reason the Steelers are in the Super Bowl. It’s a business and the people who cut the checks want to see the big dog win, not the underdog.
