Saturday, March 28, the Ivy Lounge (located in downtown New Haven, CT) and Academy Print Wear present Bills for Spills, a fundraiser for HEAL Clothing and CHILL. The goal of this event is to raise money for these organizations that teach valuable life lessons to less-fortunate youth through snowboarding, and that support extreme athletes injured during competition.
The event kicks off at 7pm with a live all ages Snowboard Rail Jam. Professional Snowboarders from Hunter Mountain are bringing all their gear and their own snow to put on a show for us in the Temple Plaza Courtyard. During the three-hour show, guests can enter in raffles for free gear from Burton, Enclave, and Academy Print Wear. The girls from Red Bull will also be there, giving away free Red Bull drinks and merchandise.
After the show, the party moves inside the Ivy for the Bills for Spills Benefit. There will be a $10 cover at the door, and the proceeds from the event will be donated to the cause. All three levels of the Ivy Lounge will be open for the night, with 2 live DJs, raffles and drink specials for patrons 21 and over. To purchase tickets for the benefit in advance, please visit http://www.academyprintwear.com.
HEAL Clothing (Helping Extreme Athletes Live) is an apparel company that donates to the organizations that support action sport athletes after an accident during an event. HEAL takes a portion of every sale, before profits, and donates it to the different organizations that help the athletes of action sports. Currently, HEAL is associated with organization such as Athlete Recovery Fund, Action Sports Medicine Foundation, and Road 2 Recovery.
CHILL is a non-profit organization that uses the vehicle of snowboarding to teach inner-city and underserved youth to accomplish goals they never thought possible. Each winter, CHILL works with roughly 2,000 kids across 14 cities in North America. They provide these youth with everything they need for the six-week snowboarding program; head to toe gear, transportation to the mountain, lift tickets, lessons and six weekly themes that serve as life lessons for the youth.
The Ivy Lounge is located at 956 Chapel Street (rear) in the Temple Plaza Courtyard, at the former site of Bottega Lounge. We are open Wednesdays and Thursdays 8pm-1am, Fridays 5pm-2am, and Saturdays 8pm-2am. We host a weekly One World Wednesdays featuring Salsa Dancing and an eclectic mix of music, Acoustic Night on Thursdays, showcasing local musical talent, and live DJs and music on Fridays and Saturdays. For more information on the Ivy Lounge, please visit us at http://www.ivynewhaven.com.
