dude
i would have never sold my idea to burton
why did they do that
cause of the money….
lame

cholo | 0 Props | 2008-09-09 02:14:16

Nothing has been sold to Burton, we’re just working with them to build a better product and get the idea out there.

Matt | 0 Props | 2008-10-19 20:59:03

nice work! you guys are legit! amazing breakthrough. “knowledge” should have more knowledge about what he’s talkin about before he hates

GT is my hero. that is the dream of any snowboarder or noboarder. the cabin. the cat. everything! u guys did it right. congrats!

Dont worry | 0 Props | 2008-09-09 20:09:19

o rly? you made up that idea. sinces its been out before snowboarding itself has. if you look up the history on burton the very first board they ever had look just like the no board except not with the stomp pads on it.

JL | 0 Props | 2008-09-11 20:23:07

The stomp pad is what we came up with, not the board. the idea is to have the pad fit any board. it doesn’t have to be a B board.

Bird Rider | 0 Props | 2008-09-08 17:06:14

I liked the vid. Some of that powder looked endless. Good ridding too.

bmcdonnell | 0 Props | 2008-09-13 20:57:58

idk i think i might just stick to snowboarding. i would love to hit that powder up that there hitting it looks amazing. pretty good video. mgmt is now the most overplayed band on tws.

J-Ray | 0 Props | 2008-09-19 07:21:55

Has anyone heard of the “Snurfer”??

nichbme | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 13:51:58

i would def get one of those
if powder like that existed.

truth | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 14:41:00

i have this strange feeling that it does exist

G rock | 0 Props | 2008-09-15 19:06:07

I agree. Where the hell would anybody use these.. Powder like that is only accessible in dreams or to people with moneyyyy

PSU Boarder | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 13:53:23

First,

Kind of cool but I think I would prefer my bindings

skeevystoner | 0 Props | 2008-09-08 11:10:47

Your like the type that would hate on blind people riding!

fyl801 | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 14:00:29

gayper steez

Reid | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 14:36:06

yeah, all you need is that powder that
everyone has access to… not

valkilmer | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 14:39:29

Thats so cool, I was going to get either a wakeboard or some heely’s for christmas, but now I’m moving a noboard to the top of that list!

Gabe west | 0 Props | 2008-09-14 18:35:49

wow heelies are gay

Caleb | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 15:04:20

Skaters would love this stuff

luc | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 15:30:02

Respect

dude | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 19:11:12

Think of where this is going to progress. Pretty soon people are going to start doing varial flips down 60ft cliffs.

Afterbang1 | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 19:27:23

What about Wolle Nyvelt’s Powskate?

neonisrad | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 21:38:05

why?

banana skater | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 21:44:06

WOULD BE GREAT IF U KNEW THAT U WERE ALWAYS GOING TO HAVE POW

mcfarlin512 | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 21:55:58

i agree… why?

its kinda like one of those boards you can by at target for like $4 with the string on the front… only high tech.

got a G.E.D.? | 0 Props | 2008-11-12 23:12:14

oh, yeah. you’re kind of like one of those smart kids, only retarded. this is real snowboarding reincarnated.

tresquad | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 22:02:08

i would rather do that with bindings

tresquad | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 22:02:43

i would rather do that with bindings tresquad.weebly.com

hellagnarbro1 | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 23:03:21

that powder mashing looked like soooo much fun. I think i would feel more “free” on a snowboard because i wouldnt have to hold onto a rope and the board feels more like it is a part of u when its attached. yadidimean? cool idea tho

ben | 0 Props | 2008-09-29 03:53:32

actually, the reverse is true. It feels way for ‘free’ when your fee aren’t attached to the board.

Those guys were doing some gnarly lines, on a mellow slope you don’t need to hold on to the rope, you just shred like on a surfboard.

I’ve ridden for close to 20 years and noboarding brings it back to basics, just the best pow feeling ever.

Yeah, they are strictly a pow toy. So that limits who can do it. But do you bitch about surfing because you don’t live by the ocean?

As for being a ‘rich’ elitist thing, wrong again. A full snowboard with boots and bindings costs way more.

You can use an old deck for a noboard, or pick up a suitable shape second hand for cheap (i’m using an old Kevin Sansalone that i found for $70 last season) + nopad, which is what, $160? Or even rig your own with lots of knobby stomp pads and a rope.

you don’t even need special boots, you can do it in sorels.

So deal with it. My first time was on a burton 7 (with the rubber topsheet) and 4 bootlaced attached to my collapsed bindings on 20 cm of fresh in Flute bowl, Whistler. I was converted then and there.

homiegnargnar | 0 Props | 2008-09-07 23:20:01

I remember that back in the 80’s…

vin | 0 Props | 2008-09-08 00:03:28

anybody know the song?

Corey K | 0 Props | 2008-09-08 01:22:02

Absolutely epic. Can’t wait to noboard again this winter. These guys have mad heart and truly love it so much. Wish there were more people out there like this crew. Please invite me there next winter.

michael kim | 0 Props | 2008-09-08 02:03:18

i think it’d be cooler if they did flip tricks off of the cliff drops/jumps. i think that’s when people will stop hating and start trying. but looks sick though, pretty interested in it

air pierre | 0 Props | 2008-09-08 03:04:52

that one footer was fresh.

Brecht | 0 Props | 2008-09-08 06:19:24

Dudes, You guys are pretty sick doing this. Really nice of you, but still, I prefere my bindings ^^ You can get more extreme, do more tricks, …

SeaGal20 | 5 Props | 2008-09-08 13:05:07

This is cool, but not super useful. Definitely only fun on pow days I’m sure.

AJ | 0 Props | 2008-09-08 13:10:33

…or you could just use bindings…

jordan | 0 Props | 2008-09-08 13:17:16

pow like that does exist, its called the northwest.

kyle | 0 Props | 2008-09-09 01:38:06

HA! it snows a bunch in the northwest, but unless youre at baker, all you get is potatoes. except like once a year.

Gnarly | 0 Props | 2008-09-08 14:52:05

Do a 1080! Yah Chas that was sick.

matt | 0 Props | 2008-09-08 14:54:03

gregg todds is the man. wether you dig it or not he was rad, Building parks with a chainsaw and shovel in lake louise before most of you dudes were swimming in your dads nuts. team core respect

dirty n stinkin | 0 Props | 2008-09-08 15:39:59

noboarding looks mad legit, brecht is a douche bag. Did you guys not film those lines that are in the article in the oct issue?? those were sick want to see them in a video

cholo | 0 Props | 2008-09-09 02:18:21

video coming out in 2 months, will have those lines and tricks from the oct issue in it. There will be more stuff as we get more support within the industry.

it’s a very different feeling than bindings, that’s why we came up with it. ENJOY

ben | 0 Props | 2008-09-27 18:49:16

man lines without binders. much respect. would be tough for most kids to follow your crew up there even if they were shredding with bindings. this is legit, for sure and i wish CO had enough snow to make buying one worth while.

noboard? | 0 Props | 2008-09-08 17:38:21

there’s still a board it’s just got bindings. should be called “board, no bindings”

JL | 0 Props | 2008-09-09 14:26:13

Ya that’s a catchy name, and super original

ben | 0 Props | 2008-09-09 15:34:09

looks pretty sick and id love to try it. someone finally chose to use a mgmt song besides kids in a video too.

dirty n stinkin | 0 Props | 2008-09-09 15:48:25

i agree it looks very fun and original, there is truer way of surfing the snow than this

dman | 0 Props | 2008-09-09 18:20:53

looks sooo super, 1 comment/question, i didnt see any leesh like on a surfboard, id hate to biff then run half way down the mountain to get my board. whats stopping that?

JL | 0 Props | 2008-09-10 12:06:32

Dman,

there is a retractable leash that fits in your pocket and when you fall it lets the board get away from you but not to far. i think it’s 13 feet long. makes the difference for sure. thats why its called a noboard, there no board attached to you.

kyle | 0 Props | 2008-09-09 19:18:10

skimp

tony danza | 0 Props | 2008-09-09 19:39:30

this is cool and all, but in no way is it revolutionary. it’s just reverting back to the origins of snowboarding

SkaterBater | 2 Props | 2008-09-10 20:15:22

Everyone get radical in different ways. Looks fun to me.

abcdefgh | 0 Props | 2008-09-11 11:14:18

That looks like so much fun, definitely interested in noboarding.

Devon S. | 0 Props | 2008-09-11 19:07:20

kinda funny how much hating is going on here. i think its a cool idea
and WOW do alot more people comment on here than RIDEBMX its like a zoo in here

Guillaume | 0 Props | 2008-09-11 20:01:48

I dont believe that noBoarding will be good if you ride in normal condition witch contain Ice and all that because this powder is so unrealistic you just see this once in your life and if it’s the case Ride it with Bidings It will be great :D

Snurf | 0 Props | 2008-09-12 21:09:48

Great job Cholo! Way to keep Greg’s spirit alive.

ColoradoIsOk | 0 Props | 2008-09-13 11:14:57

That is beautuful…. It is a modern inovation and it is great….thanks for being respectful and offering it to the public…but WHEN DO I GET MINE!!!! I signed up on the website a month ago….kick down brothers…!!! thanks again!
reminds me of Turkey…and those old men in 6feet of fresh who have been doing it for 100+years.
the start of my email if cholo is watching…corus..@gm

Powdadood | 0 Props | 2008-09-14 11:39:47

I can’t believe people are hating on this. This is the coolest thing since snowboarding, oh wait it is snowboarding, how it first felt, maybe how it is supposed to feel. Give this 5 years and people will be “noroping” serious lines. Just check Wolle Nyvelt’s part in optimistic!

Illuminati | 0 Props | 2008-09-15 15:21:53

Remember when skateboarding had a fad where people would use a bike tire and strap it over the board, so their feet would stay on, and they could just jump to ollie. Thats what holding the rope on the noboard is like. But, that sure looked cool when he pulled the frigid-air off the cliff. Although, I think he used the rope.

All in all it looks awesome when it’s really deep and you feel like switching it up.

Simply amazing how many people are talking shit and have such an opinion, and think pow like that this does not exist…hahaha

Neversummer | 0 Props | 2008-10-02 06:59:46

I’m in. This is starting to get a following in Japan. We have pow like that all the time.

Props

TP | 0 Props | 2008-10-02 18:06:51

Everyone should read this again……

“Remember when skateboarding had a fad where people would use a bike tire and strap it over the board, so their feet would stay on, and they could just jump to ollie. Thats what holding the rope on the noboard is like. But, that sure looked cool when he pulled the frigid-air off the cliff. Although, I think he used the rope.

All in all it looks awesome when it’s really deep and you feel like switching it up.” ……blah blah blah blah……….I don’t this person has a clue of whats going on! maybe take another look at the sport, then wrap a tube around your sk8 and go jump off a cliff!

E | 0 Props | 2008-10-04 19:16:39

total props and respect for u guys trying to progress new ways of snowboarding.

julia | 0 Props | 2008-11-03 23:07:15

thanks for putting this up. it gave me goosebumps all over seeing those sweet pow lines. i met you (cholo) a few times in revy, im tp’s old roomate. i’ll be up at retallack all winter. hope see some of you boys up there. so pumped. i got a fish last winter, i want to put a noboard pad on it but i want to be able to go back to my bindings sometimes. once it’s on, is it on for good?
you guys rock, i tell everybody about noboarding everywhere i go.
you should send some NB swag down to some of the boardshops in nelson. it’s not accessible enough online. i want a NB logo on my butt.

hi penner!

jfe.

Anders | 0 Props | 2008-11-23 14:30:31

im just wondering if it is possible to ride noboard in a preparated slope. theres not much of an opportunity to ride the pow. i know you’ve all written about the pow, but is it just impossible, hard, or does it look stupid?

by the way the concept is ingenious!!!

Tony | 0 Props | 2008-12-06 23:12:01

Yeah, puts me in mind of the Winterstick Swallowtail or the Burton Backhill. Sure, if I had the money for a snowcat, and I’d gotten bored, I’d find a better way to ride endless pow. There is nothing new under the sun.

kentucky Sam | 0 Props | 2008-12-08 22:46:15

awh shit!!! Baker!… Yeah! I want a noboard bitches! madd props keeping it old school!
