Burton Custom X 156 ($699)

Key Feature: Infinite Channel System (ICS)

Pros:
One pro is being able to micro-adjust width, toe to heel, and angles on your board. Kyle also loved the “incredible response, feel, and comfort.” He says, “These bindings almost eliminate the feel of being strapped to a board at all.”

Cons:
According to Kyle, “ It could take a couple runs to get used to if you’re not used to feeling the terrain beneath you.” This system is a lot different from the ’07/08 Custom and not compatible with non-Burton bindings, so there’s an initial investment if you’re not already on Burton bindings.

Verdict: Kyle tested the ’09 Custom Board using his last year’s Burton EST bindings. Even with the first-year binding technology, he says, “I’m 100-percent sold on ICS. I’m fully backing it and hope all my setups boast this kind of technology from here on out.” He added that mounting was pretty easy and he’s stoked on the unlimited options.
