For extreme conditions
Gore presents a new, more rugged and significantly more breathable
GORE-TEX® Pro fabric
W. L. Gore & Associates (Gore) continues to push the boundaries of innovation and presents completely new GORE-TEX® Pro fabrics for autumn/winter 2013/2014: durably waterproof, windproof and breathable three-layer fabrics that offer improved ruggedness and increased breathability compared to the previous GORE-TEX® Pro fabrics. The new GORE-TEX® Pro fabrics offer professional mountaineers and the more than 20 million serious outdoor and freeride enthusiasts improved comfort and protection in extreme weather conditions.
From the professionals for the professionals
As serious outdoor enthusiasts seek new ways to push themselves to extremes, they need outerwear that meets their demands. They need garments that can withstand extreme and unpredictable weather conditions for extended periods without compromising protection and maximum comfort. Numerous leading athletes such as Ines Papert, Stefan Glowacz and David Lama trust the GORE-TEX® brand and have actively provided Gore with their personal experiences testing outerwear engineered with the new GORE-TEX® Pro fabrics. Through a revolutionary, patent-pending membrane technology*, the new GORE-TEX® Pro fabrics offer improved ruggedness and up to 28 percent increased breathability compared to previous GORE-TEX® Pro fabrics.
Long lasting, guaranteed performance
GORE-TEX® Pro fabrics are made to withstand the wear and tear of high activity level sports in varying weather conditions for extended periods of time. The new GORE-TEX® Pro fabrics offer improved breathability and maximized comfort, particularly during activities with frequent work/rest cycles, in unpredictable weather conditions. As with all other GORE-TEX® products, the GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY® brand promise stands for durable waterproof and windproof protection — protection against water penetrating from outside and from the chilling effects of the wind throughout the garment’s entire lifetime.
Extensive testing in laboratories and actual real-life conditions has confirmed that with its new GORE-TEX® Pro fabrics, Gore has succeeded in producing a product for professional outdoor athletes in which key functional features such as extreme breathability and improved ruggedness unite with the comfort of guaranteed durable waterproof protection. “The endurance tests that we have conducted with select mountain guides have enabled us to assess the long-lasting functionality of these products in the kind of conditions that outdoor enthusiasts will typically encounter on their tours,” remarks Tom Gray, product specialist at Gore.
A significant number of leading garment manufacturers will be incorporating the new GORE-TEX® Pro laminates in their autumn/winter 2013/2014 collections. These include adidas, Arc’teryx, Armada, Berghaus, Burton, Eider, Elevenate, Haglöfs, L.L. Bean, Mammut, Marmot, Millet, Mountain Equipment, Norrona, Oakley, Orage, Outdoor Research, Patagonia, Peak Performance, Quicksilver, Salewa, Salomon, Scott, Sweet Protection, Tierra, and The North Face.
