If you grew up riding your snowboard in the Midwest, well … wow. That’s pretty badass.
There’s a reason so many Midwest kids are coming hard right now, making a loud presence in both the film game and contest circuit. Spend one day taking countless laps at any of these snowparks—with hundreds of non-stop drops, your legs will give out far before the rope tows come to a stop.
1. Granite Peak, Wisconsin
The Midwest’s best was a new category this year, with the inaugural prize falling to Wisconsin’s Granite Peak. The resort brings six parks to the table, with more than fifteen jumps (featuring a fun-as-hell quintuple line), 35-plus jibs (including identical length box-to-rail progression sets), and a park staff who ride with the guests on the daily. The locals are friendly, loyal, and always open to sharing their parks. After all, there’s nothing quite like a bit of that good ol’ Midwest hospitality.
