THE FIRST ANNUAL BACKYARD BANG RAIL JAM KICKS OFF SATURDAY
DENVER, CO. (Nov. 20, 2009)–The Backyard Bang is rolling into Denver this Saturday, November 21st with two blocks of the downtown corridor roped off for jibbing in the streets at the Art Institute of Colorado.
Practice starts at 11 am with the main event starting at noon. Food vendors, games, prizes from event sponsors—including snowboard giveaways, art and hang time with the Pro team from Salomon are all part of the day’s festivities.
The confirmed rider list is stacked with the new guard of rail riders including Ted Borland, Harrison Gordon, Will Levigne, Chris Carr, Gabi Viteri, Bev Vuilleumier and many, many more.
The Art Institute of Colorado will host a silent auction for one of a kind snowboard art, designed by Art Institute students. Boards are on display in the Gallery and all proceeds benefit the Education Foundation and support student scholarships.

Shame on the event organizers. Women were grossly underrepresented in the competition, not to mention the fact that the first prize for men was $2000, while the first prize for women was only $1000. Women are only half as good right?

exactly, you should be glad you even got that much! now get in the kitchen and make me a sandwich

I think if woman are doing the same tricks as men, then pay them the same! But if they are not, then the prize money shouldn't be the same!

If women can do the same tricks as men then there shouldn't be a women's category. you wanna get paid, go out and show up some bros. set up is sick.

galvanic sucks and so does AI. What the f do you know about snowboarding?
November 26th, 2009 at 7:52 pm
Girls are just not as good as guys at snowboarding. Giving them the same amount of money just to be "equal" is like letting someone beat you because your better than them. Thats dumb.
Ive seen some girls really stepping up to the plate and getting wild, style getting better too. But they still have some evolving to do. While their evolving though, they should be making me sandwiches.

girl snow boarders aren't as good as guys thats y they have different catigories. the 15th best guy snowboarder is probably better than the 1st best girl snowboarder i'm not saying girls suck but they just don't do the same big tricks and don't have as nice of style as guys do (at a pro level ) ,,,, they are also less entertaining so they get paid less
