Insert expletive here. Shaun McKay stumped.
Snowmobiling ain’t cheap. Old news, right? But still, the allure of sledding is strong and sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of just how much the sledneck lifestyle can cost. Rooping around all winter can, or rather, will come with a lot of costs. Shaun McKay and Pat McCarthy know. Both dudes got an expensive lesson last winter. Here’s video proof.

if you dont know what to do then why would you go up to the sled? shaun obviously didnt know whether or not the sled could blow up and had no real clue as to why it was on fire or what to do. i dont think he would care much about the snowboard since he probably had ten just sitting at home, and it seemed from the video that the sled went up in flames pretty quick so not much time to really think it out.

Yeah really. It was barely on fire at first. Notice how it NEVER BLEW UP? Maybe caring a fire extinguishers a good idea?
Oh yeah, K2's are made in CHINA and worth less than the gas in the sleds tank.
-Shout out to McKay + McCarthy.

There was nothing he could do about it, he knew the risks, it could have blown up at any time that’s why he didn’t do any thing because it could have blown up and killed him. So don’t be saying he not helping by “letting the smoke go into our delicate atmosphere” obviously he didn’t and to just sit and watch his $10,000 sled burn to the ground. If there was any thing he could have done he would have done it.

umm…… actually there was something he could do about it. If that was me in that situation i would have put the fire out. It would be worth risking my life to save the lives of many in future generations to come. He is clearly a self centered p-hole. Watch al gores move an inconvienient truth. it real ..man

Agreed however its not risking your life. The footage shows the fire very small at the start this is an easy time to throw snow on the engine smothering the fire and putting it out safely. Burning it is one thing, the next is what did he do after this, i hope he called in a heli to pick it up and not leave the remains in the backcountry.

i really hope your not serious with all that global warming bullshit bro. just give it a break and admit that you have no idea what your talking about.
October 28th, 2009 at 12:51 am
You people are retarded. There are many, many other ways to curb global warming, a burning sled will not make that much difference. Safety is priority number one. Yeah he could have had a fire extinguisher on him just in case, But Im sure he wasn't thinking a brand new sled would go up like that. If you guys are that worried about carbon try giving up your car for 8 years like I have, and then lecture people. God you people are idiots.
