TransWorld SNOWboarding, October 2009
We test them so you don’t have to.
How The Test Works
The test starts with each model of snowboard in three different sizes sent to the snowy slopes of Breckenridge, Colorado in mid-April for the weeklong test. We hire 23 expert testers [link to bios] to ride Breckenridge’s Park Lane park and the 2,400 vertical feet down Peak 8 testing each board on every type of feature and terrain available. The park boards are scored according to criteria including ollies/nollies, rail stability, buttering, flex, turning, and spinability—all-mountain is also scored in jumping and spinning, with an additional focus on high-speed stability and turning, and less focus on rails. Test forms are filled out, turned in, and computed.
