Kid’s got an eye. And better yet, he can rip his board too. On the last day of the session, when the rain had washed all the snow away, Ben pointed it down the dirt, dropped right into a couple hundred vertical feet of dirtin’, for certain. Joe Fontaine may be a good rider, but is an ass. I tried warrantying my Smokin board and he made the decision not to warranty. He told me I broke my board landing in the back seat, which is not what I did, but whatever. I talked to Smokin Jay and told him what happened. He told me he trusted Joe's decision and that he would not warranty my board. He gave the reasons that Smokin is a new company and cannot compete with the warranties of competitors (Capita, Ride, Stepchild). He offered me a "bummer warranty" that was the "cost" of their board, $225+. Despite the fun boards they make, it is a horribly run company that doesnt want to help out their customers and loyal riders. This was my second and last board I will ever buy from them. I would not recommend a Smokin board and if you ever see Joe Fontaine or Smoking Jay, just say shame on them for not being a good company.
I retract this post. There are people at Smokin who really do care and want to make things right. Thank you Binky.
