Everyone tried not to talk too much shit about the ICER AIR contest every year when it came around. Each year, sketchy, even dangerous jumps and a generally cornball atmosphere made this now defunct contest a sort of embarassing, dirty payday for all riders involved (and the skiers, too). ON THE COVER:Dan Brisse and Seth Huot were chasing heavy snowfall in Anchorage, Alaska, in late November. “It was my first [night] shooting of the year,” explains photographer Andy Wright. “I can’t say I was happy about missing Thanksgiving with friends and family to go stand in subzero temps and hopefully catch a turkey dinner at Denny’s, but once we got to this roof-to-redirect setup and the lights came on, it all seemed worth it.
