  • Geoff Isring Says:

holy hoot dickity dang thats so freakin sick!
Only critique is that the people who will be truly using this training to it’s fullest potential will need a bigger bigger or a steeper pitch.

  • A Genuine Thug Says:

Yo, I be reppin’ WELCH VILLAGE fo’ sho’. Welch Village recently added a foam pit to their park. There is also a river hit at the bottom of the hill just past the lodge. There is no question in my mind that Welch Village provides the most advanced, well-maintained park in the mid west, if not the entire continent. Please, buy a season’s pass at Welch Village and experience these things that I have described to you. Take it from a genuine thug, Welch Village is where its at.

  • Another Genuine Thug Says:

Yo, I be totally agreeing with what the genuine thug said. He be so correct about the atmosphere at Welch Village.

  • A Third Genuine Thug Says:

My boi’s have it right. Welch Village is where the party is at. Grab a season’s pass and join the coolest club in our fine country. Welch Village: where epic terrain meets classic style.

  • CFA Says:

    daaaaaamn looks so fun

  • Wayne Says:

The inside scoop is that they are working on a drop in ramp extension with handle bars that would extend the drop in by 4-5 feet. Gangsta.

  • LmPLocAL Says:

    Wow let me get that!

  • Jon the salmonella snack Says:

Never ever go just to skate.

  • bridget Says:

What’s the snow ramp made out of? Looks kind of like just a wet slide but I’ve heard of some crazy material.

  • BL Says:

i wanna go hit that up.. looks so sick to train there
yeah whats the surface made of?

  • TheFreshSC Says:

its only $10 to skate for a session, and the mini ramps are perfect. it’s definitely worth it if you go just to skate. Idiot

  • TheFreshSC Says:

It’s like an astro-turf material that they spray with a water/silicone mix to make it nice and slippery. It feels kinda like real snow

  • studs tirkle Says:

see more footage from the woodward mini ramp and some wicked boarding on real live snow at http://boardcartel.wordpress.com/

  • ben Says:

thats sweet. but are there like any on snow stuff? like at windells or high cascade?

  • thritytwo Says:

can you just go or do you have to sign up for the camp?

  • 2378 Says:

ultimate indoor training facility. it really cant get much better

  • skeeztamelakabak Says:

    aahhhhhhhhhh!!! so sick. im goin

  • cool, but . . . Says:

This sort of thing (this and bag jump) seems rad, but it does have the potential to change things drastically. It’s impact on other sports has been clear, quickly ups the level of crazy tricks. However, it arguably cheapens the new tricks learned to some extent. Sure, you learned/invented a new trick, but you had to “cheat” to do it. Of course it is an ethical slippery slope and probably not worth extensive debate, but it is worth noting.
Above all, I’m just really impressed that Travis Rice dramatically pushed the sport without having to resort to this sort of thing (as far as I know). It’s just so much cooler to point to that double cork on chad’s gap (or was it pyramid gap?) and say he just stepped up! No baby steps involved.

  • leif Says:

I see what your saying dude if you get a foam pit you take the risk out right away
but at the same time, it is the ultimate in progression, and isnt that what it’s all about?

  • dunzo Says:

T Rice gets to learn in 3 feet of powder. Pretty much the same thing as a foam pit.

  • gee Says:

    that’s sick.

  • skylar brent Says:

    The surface is Nylon Carpet.

  • Birdrider Says:

Have you ever landed on your head? Shit makes you feel like your going to shit a kidney even in the softest of snow. Your out for weeks if not a whole season and old…. get out of here.

I’ve hit water ramps and even those hurt when you land. I can’t imagine landing on your head in any conditions is nice… even foam. The deceleration is just too great.

  • theoriginalgangsta Says:

may i ask you boys exactly what you are hating on? have either of you ever experienced the thrill of dropping first into the back bowl? have either of you ever stomped the shit out of a line in the Welch terrain park? i think the asnwer to both these questions is “no”. so, until you can ride at a 12 year old level, please refrain from hating on the sick setup at Welch; otherwise some 12 year old, like myself, will continue to hate on you. respect. but not really. WELCH!

  • Soaring Ottertail Says:

Wow, hating on welch village is like hatin on valdez AK. We have a foam pit that some kids are trying switch backside double cork 14s into. We be so ill on foam pits. We kill them soo much harder than any other resort, especially with our snake slicing steezbags we call loc’s. Also we have a new tram that leads into uncharted backcountry that we be killin so properly. Pronto pups for life.

  • pastrami Says:

totally agree, even though it would be crazy fun to just flip as much as you want

  • henrik Says:

omfg!!!!! i wish we had that kind of possibillities in norway!!! u lucky bastards!: ) how can anybody hate on this !! bla bla t rice… lets see if those who learn double corks there can pull them of with the size and skill like t rice… either way he deserve respect like hell and so does those who got this facility on its feet!! and the guys/ girls who have FUN there!! shit i envy u americans with your parks and well funded funlands!!!

    peace!!

  • smoke Says:

im not too worried, the bag jump hasnt done shit, nobodys like ok i learnt it now im going to huck this onto hard packed snow so sit the fuck back and stop worrying about a kid learning a new trick into foam you fucking idiots

  • Matt Says:

the norwegian gets in on it, then we all feel awkward.

    Trysil fo’ life!

  • haahahah Says:

transworld is deleting posts and not running the comment board contest anymore. jerks

  • tytepantzsteez Says:

yah we used to have a foam pit but they accidentally put broken up shards of glass and creejed sharks filled with peezy acid so they had to close it…

  • yeahh Says:

that one kid got his tits spanked

  • mt hood Says:

i think i just saw heavan

  • hagfish Says:

I see what your saying But I respectivly disagree

There is a foam pit at Whistler for biking which I practice at frequently.

into the foam I can do Backflips 360s no foot cans super seaters any thing but translating it to conditions where you have to land on solid gound is a big step, a Huge step.

even if someone learns a double cork 12 at COC into the air bag odds are there not gonna be trying it on a real jump anytime soon I still takes alot of guts to try new tricks and the progression remains in place

  • hagfish Says:

    STOP SPAMING WITH THIS SHIT
    no one cares

  • hagfish Says:

if you have a tram that leads to it it is no longer uncharted

  • jim Says:

haha i have a pass at welch. spring time the hill is fun but besides that..

  • boner Says:

why can’t people just snowboard on snow and learn tricks!
make’s you more of a man. bunch of choir boys on here!

  • not quite... Says:

sorry folks, foam pits and bag jump have nothing on the katal landing pad: http://www.katalinnovations.com

  • Jon the salmonella snack Says:

    alright well have fun.

  • for the record Says:

travis was not the first guy to double cork. david benedek invented the double cork at the gap session. travis rice did a double rodeo, not a double cork. get it right people, give benedek the respect he deserves.

  • the real winner Says:

yo jim is the real winner here. hes got a seasons pass to north americas most amazing mountain experience. keep it up jim, youre the envy of us all…seriously!

  • daboss Says:

he means unmarked. noone has ever marked the tram runs, so theoretically theres stuff out there we still dont know about. dont hate on welch because you’ve never been there. you’ll hate yourself when you finally visit and understand the greatness.

  • hagfish Says:

    either way
Why are you posting this here
It has nothing to do with the video
    Keep it to yourself

  • hagfish Says:

beacuse in the summer it is sorta hard to find snow

  • emil Says:

foam pits, air bags and so on doesn’t give me anything. Why snowboard on anything else than snow?

  • Big Dave Says:

It’s called snowflex. It’s the best type of dryslope matting for freestyle twisty sliders and spinny flippers, better than dendex (a.k.a. deathdex, a.k.a. the death diamonds) anyway.

  • slick rick Says:

is this shit a commericaol for welch village. that is bunk. if your going to rep on a mountain go hit up Mammoth mtn in cali, some of the fattest tables and jibs in north america. now that shit is real. its not unormal to see danny kass shreding the gnar up at mammtoh

  • nope Says:

you are all idiots. shut the f up and go shred. but since we’re talking shit, my home mountain, KEYSTONE, will kick the shiz out of welch anything and actually has real snow for the whole season!

  • hagfish Says:

    p.s. im a dumbass

  • bOMB OMB Says:

Say good bye to T RICE!!!!!!!!!

  • whos Says:

nope, what the fuck are you talking bout mammoth has like the most snow in the country this season, and the parks are fucking sick, but i have to say, i do really want to go to keystone

  • wiwiwiwiwiwi Says:

  • llamacode Says:

Do you actually think people are going to go whatever mountain your repin Just cause you tell them to?…
    acutually?
Serriosly guys not only are being of topic but you come off as idiots

  • llamacode Says:

  • danielo Says:

where is this!!!! I WANNA GO!!!

  • hagfish Says:

    Anyone care?…
    no? then SHUT UP

  • CoreNotCorporate! Says:

No dude JP Walker was the first, last trick in Shakedown! So he beats both of them son, uhhhhhhhhh

  • esnift Says:

    foam pit = fun

f#ck head resort rep that thinks he’s clever by spamming internet video sites and posting under different user names to give the appearance of general acceptance = not fun

  • peace and love Says:

who cares if people r trying switch bs double cork 14s into a foampit they will never try that on the slopes
the foam would be fun but theres not a whole lot of training aspect for it other than moderate flips and spins
the rails and quarter pipe would be good for training in summer though.. also the straight drop into the pit is good to

  • F WV Says:

Fuck Welch Village Your probably on thier fucking payroll quit spamming like a fucker. eat shit merry christmas

  • Ravioli... frontside Says:

http://www.woodwardatcopper.com don’t be a sheep. judge for yourself!

  • yeah!rrrr!wsuue! Says:

yeah right welch village were not dumbasses. one person wrote every single one of those fuckin ads noone cares about the
midwest it sucks and is bitter cold everyday

  • yeah!rrrr!wsuue! Says:

    it’s in copper village dumbass

  • correction Says:

yes jp walker invented the first double cork. he did a nine
benedek did a ten and yes the trick that travis did over mineshaft gap (not chads) was a double cork not double rodeo. eero ettala did the first double rodeo in mack dawgs follow me around.

  • wow Says:

    wow…speaking of idiots

    repin
    acutually
    serriosly
    of topic

  • Jonah Says:

Wow, that is probably the most realistic i’ve seen yet. Definitely weeds out the beginners trying crazy shit, which I like. I’d love to try that Katal idea at my home mountain.
