USASA Scholarship Foundation Distributing Past Awards
TRUCKEE, Calif. (January 25, 2009)—The United States of America Snowboard Association (USASA) is asking that past scholarship recipients collect their award or donate their unused award back to the USASA Foundation. Anyone who won a scholarship award prior to 2003 is hereby given notice that you have until June 30, 2009 to collect your award or let USASA know if you intend to use it within the next five years.
Money must be used to offset the costs of education, snowboard or ski camp, or coaching. Checks will be issued directly to the educational institution, camp or coach.
Please let us know if you cannot use the money for its intended purpose and would like to donate your award back to the USASA Foundation to be given out again. If you do not collect your award prior to June 30, 2009 or if you do not let us know your intent to use the award by then, your award will automatically revert back to the USASA Foundation.
The USASA Foundation, Inc. was created last year in order to provide further support for USASA members. More information about the Foundation and its grant programs will be posted on www.usasa.org.
Please contact Sarah Linton at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to verify whether or not you won a USASA Scholarship award prior to 2003 or to express your intent to use the award in the next 5 years. If you know you won an award, you may collect your funds by contacting Karen Mertl at Karen@usasa.org.
