Burton Snowboards announced a shift in their already-strong marketing communications department ¿ expanding its scope and focus on all marketing, communications and public relations activities.
Amy Barrett heads the charge as the newly named Global Communications Manager. In this position, Barrett will oversee all global communications and public relations activities, media and brand relations, promotional activities and events and sponsorship opportunities, with backup from a strong communications team at Burton’s Vermont headquarters and their international headquarters in Innsbruck, Austria and Urawa, Japan.
In her role as Global Communications Manager, Barrett will look to further the scope of public relations activities both in North America and abroad ¿ ensuring consistent communiqué about Burton Snowboards in all materials and activities. So, whether Burton’s at an event in Nagano, Japan or Denver, Colorado, she and her team will be sure that what you see and hear is in keeping with the brand’s fundamental beliefs.
Barrett joined Burton in 1997 as a Public Relations Specialist before being promoted to Public Relations Manager in 1999. She began her professional career in marketing on the broadcast side, with stints in the advertising and promotion department at Hall Communications (radio group) and then as Public Relations/Promotions Manager for Vermont’s local WB affiliate.
A graduate of the University of Vermont, Amy has been riding since 1990 and lives in Vermont with her two akitas.
