Chris Maitland, manager of Freewheelin Skate and Snow in Calgary, Alberta, says he receives excellent service from Rossignol. “They consistently ship on time and the products we receive are actually the products we ordered,” he explains. “In the past, some companies were either late, didn’t ship what we originally ordered, or gave us a hard time when we tried to ship back product.”

Illusion in St-Bruno, Quebec is just fifteen minutes outside Montreal. Many people flock to Illusion to hang out in a very cool store. Owner Nicolas Cote is impressed with the service he’s received from the local Ride Snowboards’ representative. “There aren’t many other companies around that make their presence felt like our local Ride rep,” he says. “The product is high quality and we never have any hassles dealing with the company.”

Brett Williams, manager of North Shore Ski and Board in North Vancouver, British Columbia, gives Burton the thumbs-up for service. “We’ve been very happy with Burton and its continued support of our shop,” he says. “The customer-service line is great and our local rep is cool.”

Williams has dealt with a few different companies, some small and some leaders of the industry. The bottom line at North Shore has always been about customer service.

“No doubt about it, our best service comes from Salomon and Ride,” says Frederic Alvarez, manager of Oberson in Laval, Quebec. Oberson is one of the largest, if not the largest snowboard retailer, in the province of Quebec. Being such a prestigious buyer has its privileges and Alvarez says he’s careful with who he works with–only quality goods make it into the shop.

La Vie Sportive in Quebec City has a huge selection of boards and accessories. Eric Masse manages the snowboard section and is happy because “we receive great service from our local Burton rep and it also helps that the Burton head office is only a few hours away in case we need things in a hurry.”

“I like Sims a whole lot because of the speed that they replace warrantied boards–around here we bust a lot of boards,” says Sacred Ride Owner Jeff Grosch. “We also like Sims because they aren’t like some of the other companies that make you pay almost immediately.” His shop is located in Nelson, British Columbia.
