Oceanside, CA, November 8, 1999 à‚ TransWorld Media, a division of Times Mirror Magazines, will launch the definitive style and service guide for Generation Y’s alternative culture entitled TransWorld’s STANCE, it was announced today by Times Mirror Magazines President and CEO Efrem Zimbalist III and Brian Sellstrom, President of TransWorld Media. The bi-monthly magazine will be available on select newsstands, specialty board sports stores, music stores and bookstores nationwide beginning February 22, 2000, with a cover price of $3.99.
TransWorld’s STANCE will be the first general interest magazine for male teens, filling the niche between traditional and special interest sports titles, music titles and men’s service titles. It will be full of products, service, humor, girls and celebrities from both inside the alternative teen culture and beyond.
“By delivering the culture’s lifestyle and providing authentic service information to our audience, we will further extend our relationship with the 14 to 21 year-old male,” says Fran Richards, editorial director of TransWorld’s STANCE.
The premiere issue is expected to feature 84 editorial pages and some 50 ad pages with a total distribution of 90,000. TranWorld’s STANCE will cover new products in the following categories: apparel; footwear; music; video; audio equipment; automotive; computing; comic books; pagers; books; backpacks; video games; telecommunications; action figures; skateboarding; surfing; BMX; freeskiing; snowboarding; musical equipment and more. As with all TransWorld Media titles, TransWorld STANCE will not accept alcohol or tobacco advertising.
