Sponsors: Option, NFA clothing and streetwear, Northwave, Drake, Dragon Optics, The Snowboard Connection, Spacecraft, Defcon, Nixon
Years snowboarding: Sixteen
Roots: Seattle, Washington
Home: Bellingham, Washington
Weight: 180 lbs.
Stance: Regular, 24.5 inches wide, with eighteen degrees on the front foot and negative-nine on the back.
Forward lean: None, because I feel it’s like I’m riding in a GS race in Barcelona when I rock forward lean. Sometimes one click if I’m riding pipe isn’t bad, I guess.
Board: Option Influence 157 ($299) is fun on jumps in the spring. I like to ride the Signature Series 161 and 164 in pow ($459), and the Jordan Mendenhall 153 ($349) when I’m jibbing or riding park.
Boots: Northwave APX 5 in size nine ($219).
Bindings: Drake Czar in white and gold ($179).
Personal settings: Nothing too tech, really. I just keep my board waxed as much as possible-thanks, One Ball Jay and Temple, and Matt Cummins for the everyday motivation up here at Baker.
Tuning techniques: I basically try to wax once a week. I detune once on boards I ride in the backcountry and go nuts on rail or park boards.
Jacket: NFA Atmosphere series jacket in black ($290).
Pants: NFA Atmosphere series pants in white ($250).
Gloves: DEFCON Gamma DFX ($60).
Goggles: Dragon MACE ($130).
Riding style: My ideal conditions are riding a foot of new at Mt. Baker with my crew. I love when people I’m hyped on come and ride Mt. Baker with me and my homeys. My favorite terrain is deep powder-most often snowmobile accessed-or natural jumps that form at the mountain. Backcountry snowboarding is definitely the goal for me.
