Age: 30
Sponsors: Vans, Billabong, Sapient Snowboards, Spy, Bluebird, Life-Link, Kicker, Blindside Co., Essa
Years Snowboarding: Fifteen
Roots: Redding, California
Home: Salt Lake City, Utah
Height: 5’8″
Weight: 160 lbs.
Stance: Goofy, 22 inches wide, with fifteen-degrees angle on the front foot and negative-three on the back.
Forward lean: I use just a tiny bit-I take the forward lean adjustment out of the Cartels, but they still have some.
Board: I ride the Sapient Lotus series Coutler-Wastell design 157 and 153 ($460). I ride the 157 for most everything and change to the 153 for urban stuff.
Boots: The Vans Fargo Boa, size 9 ($259) in white with camo.
Bindings: Burton Cartel ($220).
Personal settings: Nothing crazy-I just like it when things get used a bit so everything feels like one unit.
Tuning techniques: I wax a ton. I always run the Bluebird all-temp ($8-10), and for most conditions, I detune the nose and tail right off the bat with just a few passes on the edges.
Jacket: Billabong Trans Am jacket in white ($250).
Pants: Billabong Shingle pants in orange ($120).
Goggles: Spy Soldiers ($125).
Helmet: I use a Pro-tec Classic skate helmet ($30) in contests.
Riding style: I consider myself a well-rounded rider-I like every aspect of the sport. My favorite conditions are powder, powder, and more powder.
