With the mountains opening in Colorado and all the hype from Mammoth slipping into Salt Lake City, shredders here in the Salt Lake Valley have been itching to spin some lift laps. Wednesday November 15, 2006, Brighton resort turned it on for the official start of the 06/07 season with a 22″ base depth. The parking lot was full by 10:00 am and the usual SLC heads were there: Aaron Biittner, Stevie Bell, Justin Bennee, Pat Moore, and the TechNine crew. Pat Fenelon, Justin L’Heureux and I decided to do the cool thing and document this super pre-season day—don’t get me wrong, there were a few mini slashes to face shots.
The snow situation is actually looking good as Brighton is filled with plenty of natural hits—the nine hundos will be flying after the next storm. Jared Winkler and the boys also had a few small jibs set up, and there’s nothing like getting broke off on a ten-foot box the first day.
Shout outs to the kids who helped, Gabe, Sean, Zane, Kimball, Biittner, Jess The Bunny, and everyone ells on hand. Also make sure to check out the photo gallery, the Dump Truck wasn’t filmed.
