This April 1st, I woke up at 1:30 pm, and it was raining out. The first thing Sara (Phillips) said to me was, “Let’s go to Brighton! I waited for the, “April Fools! to follow, but it didn’t. I grudgingly put on my still wet boots, started up the car, and headed for the hills.
Upon arriving at the mountain, I silently thanked Sara for making me go. It was snowing heavily and there were no lift lines. We quickly filmed a run with her elph cam and then proceeded to get rad. Lift ride, pow turn, pow turn, pow turn, snake run through the trees, pow turn, pow turn, lift ride. It quickly turned into my best powder day ever.
Three hours later, we headed back to the car, dusted it off, and drove back down to the valley. The car ride was mostly silent as we replayed each bottomless turn in our heads. As April Fools day turned into night, the reports came in from others that were at Brighton—multiple best day evers.
