Thursday Theater, Bear Mountain, Johnny Miller

A quick chat with Bear Mountain’s Justin Meyer during late night editing of their latest production, Join Us. Justin shot the movie alongside Joe Carlino as well as the two previous Bear Mountain movies—The Park (2004) and No Big Deal (2005).

What should we expect from Join Us?

Lots of ripping around The Park at Bear Mountain and a little street action as well. I guess you could say the video is an overall goodtime. Waffles and girl’s pants all getting along, nothin’ but love foo’. That and more backflips.

When and where is the movie premiering?

It’ll premiere alongside Mack Dawgs Follow Me Around and Mack Dawgs People at Hot Dawgz and Handrails this September, 16th at Bear Mountain … be there or be square!

What riders should we look for?

All the local fools like Johnny Miller, Nima Jalali, Harrison Gordon, Chris Bradshaw, Clayton Shoemaker, Mike Burton, Joe Mertes, Josh Mills, Brian Fox, Lance Hakker, Jared Johnson, Kirk Kaufman, Chad and Ryan Tarbell, etc. etc. And some other fools like Robbie Sell, Gus Engle, Jesse Burtner, Joe Sexton, Mike Casanova, MFM, and so on, and so on.

Since this is a free movie, would you say that it’s priceless?

Yeah, for sure!

How can we get a copy?

Come to the Hot Dawgz and Handrails event, September 16th at Bear Mountain. We’re handing copies out for free. Or come to Bear and ask Marty Ward for one.

What if there’s a kid who lives in Russia who wants a copy but can’t get to Bear? How does he get one?

Russia, that’s a long ways from big bear. He could pay shipping and shoot an email, I’m sure they’ll send him one if there are any left.

Is there going to be an after party following the premieres?

Oh you know it, at Marc Frank’s house! (The Block Big Bear) I’m sure that place will be jumping off like no other!
