At six o’clock, we converged at Opal for dinner, drinks, awards, and a celebration of TransWorld SNOWboarding’s 20th year in publication. Such legendary heads as Shaun Palmer, Dale Rehberg, and Jimmy Halopoff were seen mingling in the crowd as everyone took full advantage of the open bar and filled out ballots to decide the winner of the women’s rail jam and the overall Team Challenge champions. While the ballots were counted, a slideshow played that recanted the antics of the past two days. Finally, Iris Lazzereschi was awarded $1,500 for her trickery in the rail jam, and the K2 team was given an all-expenses paid trip to El Salvador for their overall greatness at this year’s Team Challenge. After the awards, the party raged on with an adjacent casino for anyone wishing to take advantage of Nevada’s lax gambling laws, and an after party at Blu complete with a DJ and jumping dance floor. And as the wee hours of the morning crept on, everyone stumbled back to their respective hotel rooms to prepare for early flights and hangovers with the satisfaction of another successful Team Challenge courtesy of Porters, Heavenly, Redbull, MontBleu, Waterways, and obviously, TransWorld Media. Thanks guys!
