After winning the 2007 TransWorld Team Challenge, in addition to being presented with the famed Team Challenge trophy, team K2 was also handed an all expenses paid trip to El Salvador to soak up some sun, some surf, and some siesta time in the tropics.
The original roster for the trip consisted of riders Leanne Pelosi, Robbie Walker, Eero Niemela, Bryan Fox, and then Team Manager Lance Hakker.
Along the way Lance decided to leave K2 to pursue other interests so he had to tie up all his loose ends. Bryan and Robbie weren’t able to go for whatever reasons (girlfriends), so that left Leanne Eero, and three empty slots.
One slot was easily filled by our resident videographer Joe “SL8ER” Carlino, who went to go shoot the wrap up to the 2007 Team Challenge video, but mostly to catch some tasty waves. Leanne’s BFF and fellow shredder Jacqui Berg filled the second to last slot, and the last spot drifted away unfilled.
In any event, there was a crew of shred heads in El Salvador, two of who earned it, and two of who coat tailed in—stoked! They slashed apart some surf, caught fish, ate fish, got sun burned and got a cool buzz on.
Extra big thanks to www.waterwaystravel.com and Roberto the guide for hooking it all up.
