The conditions were the opposite of what contenders at the East Coast Open were dealing with, it was hot hot heat under blue skies and as the competition sped into the afternoon, the snow threw on the brakes making for some less than stellar spectating for the finals. Park City Resort prodigy Dave Munoa won by a landslide. No doubt the kid had been ditching school to practice up in the King’s Crown Park. Dave’s polished winning run included a front board up the step up box, a Cab 5, a smooth switch lipslide on the C-rail, and a deal sealing BS 900 over the forty-foot tabletop to finish ‘er off.
The rail jam went down that afternoon in front of the sundeck with DJ A Trak providing beats and Youngbloods swarming the rails. Sorry for the lackluster reporting—the park at Bear Mountain is still fun enough to distract riders (including myself) from the contest sidelines.
